true dat. he is spending even more than bush, bailed out more places like bush, leaving our borders wide open like bush, sending more troops overseas like bush...

the only difference is that obama hasn't had a terrorist attack hit him.

bush sent people to iraq for a pointless cause, obama has sent people to afganistain to take out alkida

bush spent money on the war in iraq, obama is spending money to stimulate the economy

yes^, and since this has apparently already turned into a hate on obama thread, I will remind people that not every decision in the country is made by the president, and that on the contrary its made by a group of elected officials called Congress which at the moment is comprised of a democratic majority, who support more "socialist" causes such as stimulis packages. And its funny how conservatives are now finding fault with the "obama's" war now. Your fucking high and mighty leader dubbaya tricked congress to get us into it, and i might add for the hell of it that george bush is a naturally unintelligent man. Yeah, he went to Yale, but you think while there he might have spent a little time to figure out that tricky little thing called the English language. Something, that funnily enough is not spoken very well by the same people who think it really should be a requirement if you want to live in this country you dirty little beaner/chink

My full name is Dr. Charles Lee Angus Francis Michaelangelo Nostrodamous Cleopatra Cowigula Anthony Kramer III......... and im not good at politics

Politics are ridiculous now, I follow it..but not how I used to. I can't watch the news, I'm sick 5 months of debate over a healthcare bill where only 3-4 people in the entire Congress are really sticking up for what they know is right, not what their party thinks is right and not what their donors think is right.

I'm sick of people bashing Obama for "deceiving" us on Afghanistan, when he said from the start he was going to increase troops. I'm sick of people saying Obama stole our money by bailing out the banks, when the first bailout was passed under President Bush. Do I think we should bail out banks or increase troops? Absolutely not, but people are calling Obama a liar when he's really been pretty straightforward.

That being said, I'm pleased with what Obama has done. Yeah, the cap and trade bill and the healthcare bill aren't perfect by ANY means, but you have to pass something and build on it over time. These people who are "single-payer or nothing" piss me off, I wholeheartedly support single payer healthcare, but with out Congress it's just not possible.

I consider myself a social libertarian, I believe all social activities, whether it be drug use, marriage, pornography, whatever, there should be no laws restricting what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home.

One thing I'm sure many on here will disagree with me on is that I believe in semi-open borders, that is, under no circumstances deport or jail an immigrant. You don't choose where you're born, this is why I see extreme patriotism and fighting for your country to be ridiculous. You should fight for what is right, not what your country or congress supports.

Economically I believe in pretty strict regulation as far as banking goes, the deregulation of the 90's caused the recent economic meltdown. I believe in the private sector, but I think the government should control healthcare.

If you're so scared of socialism, next time your house catches on fire don't call 911. After all, who would support a socialist fire department?

yeah i don't like people who say everything should be privatized without stopping to think about roads, industry standards, emergency systems, health regulations...it's for their own damn good

seriously, you cant hate on obama.. the stuff he's doing now wont really start taking effect until he's out of office. this shit takes TIME, its not instant. Obama is the perfect step in the right direction, and its up to all who follow him to follow that direction.

1 i agree!
2 i hate it when people make partisain plays. bush and obama both spend money like freaking drunk rich college preppy girls.
3 cap and trade will make energy prices sky-rocket, how is that good for the economy? the government running 1/6 of the economy? how does that create jobs? the private sector obviously does the best job of that.
4 i disagree, strictly on opinion. i think there should be laws.
5 we have open borders if they COME IN LEGALLY!!!
6 agree, except healthcare. what country has government healthcare been good?
7 thats what government is for. fire department, making roads, having schools, things like that.

i just want to say this. if somebody doesn't have enough money to pay for a life-saving operation, the state pays for it. nobody is dying from lack of healthcare. NOBODY. and we already have medicare/medicade which are already government healthcare!

seriously, you cant hate on obama.. the stuff he's doing now wont really start taking effect until he's out of office. this shit takes TIME, its not instant. Obama is the perfect step in the right direction, and its up to all who follow him to follow that direction.

he's taking a step twards socialism greg. and with all due respect, our founding fathers didn't risk their lives and die for us to become a free nation, only years later to become the very thing they died for to protect. we need to go back to OUR principles. not europe's principles.
I LOVE YOU EUROPE!! :)

1 bush sent people to iraq for a pointless cause, 2 obama has sent people to afganistain to take out alkida

3 bush spent money on the war in iraq, 4 obama is spending money to stimulate the economy
5 get your facts straight

1 AGREED
2 AGREED. but nonetheless, war is war.
3 bush spent money on the war in iraq, AND afganistan, which actually cost more than iraq. how about YOU get YOUR facts straight. your making a partisan play you can't say that obama is right and bush is wrong for doing the same thing. it's party loyalty, and it's what's killing this country in my opinion.
4 that's true. i never said he wasn't?
5 get my facts straight? read above ^^ i never said they were facts.
