I don't have photoshop atm, i have lightroom though.

You don't need to use that just find a pure white photo on the net somewhere. Load the photo you took into lightroom and adjust some of the sliders until you can see most of the dust.

not to bad i guess, no i didnt take it in black and white, just did whatever till it was visible

Yeah that's not too bad. Dust doesn't matter too much when shooting with larger apertures than around f/16 anyway.

I think the first one needs a lot more contrast. And it looks like you have tried to position the pier in perfect centre but there is uneven room on each side of the pier. A quick fix in the crop tool will help fix it.

In both photos the horizons don't appear to be straight. The first one is probably straight, it just seems like it isn't because of the pier.

Seems opposite to me, first one looks crooked, second looks fine.
