im thinking of going with a 60D. i usually shoot with one. I find the swivel screen comes in handy for what I shoot.

for sports, the 17-40. you wont be able to shoot sports at 1.4. for portraits get the 1.4. I have had pretty good luck with the canon 50mm 1.4. The 30mm will make it almost a true 50mm on a crop sensored camera.

Well I barely shoot riding anymore. Just portraits/landscapes

get the 30 then. a L lens is much sharper but you will dig the 1.4. If you upgrade to a full frame the f4 would be equivalent to about a 1.8 or 2.0 on a crop sensor

if the 7d had a swivel screen it would be perfect. my friend has one with a 70-200 ISII f2.8L

Going to get a sigma 30mm f1.4 in a couple weeks then a fisheye and like 5 batteries then I will be set
