saddam was holding iraq together pretty well, even if he did kill a bunch of people, the people weren't like...killing eachother in massive proportions, i'd rather have saddam still in power than US fucking rampaging into iraq and fucking shit up.

are you kidding me? he murdered 10s of thousands of people. how can you just let that slide?

even with the fact that he murdered 10s of thousands of people, he was spreading money pretty evenly throughout iraq, and keeping everyone pretty happy, noone was going and bombing eachother...im not denying the fact that he killed a ridiculous amount of people, but if he were still in charge there, there wouldn't be car bombings every day and such acts of terrorism between the sunnies and shiites.

i think thats what they're called at least.

he should be hung. If he rots in prison... our tax money feeds him for the rest of his life.... showers him... puts clothes on his body... its not worth it. kill him once and hes not a burden to us.

its not us at all, though. the united states had nothing to do with his trial and execution. i mean, yeah, we came into iraq and our troops captured him, but then he was handed over to the iraqi government. his trial was run by the iraqis, and he was sentenced to death by an iraqi panel. america had nothing to do with it, so therefore it wouldnt be our tax dollars.

and i really dont know if this applies in iraq, but in the united states it costs more to execute someone than to leave them in prison for the rest of their lives, so thats really not a valid argument.

I'm with sean on this one...he's right, it was an Iraqi trial, if you saw the court they were in you would see it was a lot different. Also during the trial Saddam would go on hunger strikes, I found that funny lol.

Like Sean said, it costs more to execute someone then to keep them in prison for their life. And also, think about all the bad shit that would happen to him in prison, people wanting revenge and things like that, he'd get fucked up.
