SCS vs HIC

that's pretty weird, ill pass the word on to the starnut in my strikers (that's been there for years)....i dont know about you but my scs, and almost anybody else that ever had one takes weeks comes loose. ruining your parts for the sake of riding the worst compression on the market is ridiculous. why do you act like having a light scooter is the #1 priority in scootering, like your scooter is never too light even though your a grown man.

sorry ill correct my statment. starnuts in crmo bars will not stay put as they are so much larger which leads to bending the flanges of the starnut plus they arent a great fit, everyone gets them sliding unless you have alloy bars. in forks however it is a lot different thanks to smaller size and super tight tolerance thus less chance of slipping, the reason i put a forktube+starnut in the bars. as you can figure i rode alloy bars for the best part of my riding as i didnt break them and is why i never had any problems with ics.

scs has alot of little issues that need addressing but the whole industry needs to follow through with it. i dont like the fact that nothing but a clamp is holding the bars in place, if it is loose they can come out and it happened often when i worked at scooter hut. the reason for this is 2 parts, a) tolerance of either the bars, clamp or fork could be looked over so easily and b) kids dont know how to properly secure the clamp. sometimes it was a. and sometimes b. or hell, the thing breaking in half was seen but of course after atleast 6 months of use.

i ride ics firstly for weight saving, my compression weighs in total....25 grams. love it or not that is a crazy when comparing to any other. secondly i ride it for safety, its always anchored into the bars so they aint going nowhere even if the clamp isnt properly tightened.

why do i have a light scooter? i will say in a kind tone, i am allowed to do whatever i want, i know how to ride and i dont break even the lightest parts on the market. why dont you?

so what is your bar/starnut/compression combo?

sword fork, ethic bars and thanks to that starnut issue i just wrote a paragraph on it explains why i use a piece of alloy forktube+1 1/8 starnut and not ics or ics10 starnuts. starnut into forktube then forktube being a tight fit got forced into position like a ics starnut would then dented the bars just below forktube to prevent any movement. i even broke a bolt in one and managed to wedge the unusable starnut up the top of the bars thanks to the opening at the top .
