The future of scooters

in the future:

- the sport will continue to grow progress
- 125mm wheels will be all the rage
- front brakes will become more common
- most serous riders will have one piece decks, but old a/b/pro/micro/whatever decks will remain popular with many people due to weight, price, portability and ease of repair/modification
- many more companies will form, and there will be a huge variety of awesome parts.
- proto/sr/whatever will remain the leading company for a long long time, Andrew will basically be the mat hoffman of scooters.
- ...but the brass knuckles thing will never become the "standard" that all scooters use. js.
- eaglesport will fuck things up
- integrated headsets might become popular
- scooter riders will always be the most chill and awesome people ever
- either people will be doing insane lines and tricks that cant even be imagined now, or nobody will do tricks anymore and it will all be about slalom scooter racing. probably the latter.

so yeah, you guys got any predictions for the future of the sport?

I like your list matt.
Uhm...
Vert will be popular hopefully
i mean legit vert, not a few whips under 13 foot coping

Dual 110s, maybe 125s.
Brass knuckles WILL become the standard, when more companies make different types of the clamp, with different shapes and cut-outs.
-All scooters will be around 9-10 pounds.
-Integrated Headsets.
-Front brakes will never become popular.
-Nobody will ride less than 16" wide.
-Prices for parts will continue to rise. $800+ for a complete scooter won't be absurd.

nahh just his dad ok?
dakota is incredible at riding, and although i dont know, i havent heard any thing bad about his attitude

- dakota and his father will lead the scooter scene into the x games and more
- when people take the mick now about tricks e.g "barrell roll bri flip to fakie" this will come true, although not for a while lol (i hope haha)

I will still be riding a nearly stock scooter cause I damage them too much to be bothered with a lot of mods.

More companies will come in and we will start having people become pro riders and make a living off riding scooters

Scooter clothing companies.

-EVERYBODY will have one piece bars, and metal cores.
-Made for dirt and trails scooters will arise.
-Scootering will hit television.

Did you mean this in a good or bad way? Because I sure as hell see Eagle doing great things for the sport. Perhaps new wheels designs that will push us away from such standard looking/designed cores. Perhaps modifying the design to no longer ovalize the hub. Even though that is a installers error at least 9 out of 10 times.

I see scooters staying around the same popularity for at least another ten years. Sure, more riders will come and go. But as far as media goes, I don't see it being anymore publicized as it is now. It'd be nice if I were wrong though.
I see more rider based companies. Plenty more bar designs that aren't so boring, but stray away from the BMX look.
Decks going to 4130, T1,T3,T6 aluminum will fade away slowely as riders catch on that Chromoly is the way to go for real strength, WITH THE PROPER DESIGN! Otherwise it will just be a piece of 4130 that bends in a few jumps.
More legit scooter DVD's that will branch off into more original ideas. You note the differences in the way a skate and BMX video is shot and edited. Scooters will do the same, and create their own way of shooting. Not quite a hybrid mix of the two combined.
Shoe and eyewear companies repping a scooter team.

If Dakota and his father get us into the xgames im boycotting. I dont want a rolling advertisement to be the reason we get in. I could care less about the xgames anymore, because thats all it is, money money money.
