This sport as a whole.

I hate how the little kids in this sport are sucking the fucking money out of it by buying mass produced parts from gay companies which is causing legit companies like TSI and Proto to struggle in staying open.

This really really bothers me sometimes.

On the subject of most of the first bit of this thread,
there are now two other kids that are locals in my town now and neither of them know who Hep Greg or Dylan Kasson or Jackson Manzie are and they barely know anything about teams besides MGP and Envy. It makes me sad.

and people calling street elitists, "elitists" is pretty misleading. an elitist thinks they're better than everyone else, and on a class above the regular society. most of the so called street elitists could care less about being above anyone else, they are just moving scootering into the right direction, and trying to gain popularity in this right direction. Idk, i felt this way since i started getting made fun of at the park. I started watching skate videos and after that i just modeled scootering out of it. sooner or later i was getting respect from the top skaters from my area. bought a dvx about a year ago and have been filming for parts and making videos. now that I'm back in scootering though, I'm going to push for this better style of riding even more, because in the end its going to make scootering such a better community.

Not trying to start shit early, but you're not wanted in this thread. Please leave.
I come into this section to talk to grown ups, as the title suggests. You Nick, are not.

So Nick voices his opinion and you flame him? We need less judgemental riders who think they are better than everyone.

More people who ride like Dan Holm or Stan. Less little kids who clog up parks. More people like Alex Steadman.

This is GROWN UP discussion.
I really don't care how mature he is, he's 13, not 18.
I made the thread here so I could discuss with people who're old enough to see the sport from a more mature perspective. He came in here saying that there should be less of a minority niche group that has existed in the sport since he was in pre-school.
That's why.
I don't think i'm better than anyone. I just want to talk to people who can see things from multiple perspectives, he obviously can't.

It's the younger riders that really bother me, I know you guys could call me that, but in my short year I've really learned a lot and don't act like them, like at my local indoor once, I saw 10+ all riding mgps or grits and had no idea what any of my parts were. They just pick the easiest thing for them to get then ride flyout

I think that all these little kids are annoying, but like it or not some of them will be the next BK, McKeen, Steadman. We need to embrace that and rather than getting all pissed off, teach them what not to do.
I would like to see people trying to be creative, rather than just another bri whip combo, and I want to see more flatland and big street.

I think right now the sport is about to peak in the amount of little kids we have riding.. This may sound weird, but I think it's the duty of the older riders to find the ones that have the most potential, and teach them what to do and what not to do. Make sure to let them develop their own style though.

I don't consider scootering a sport.
More of an art form, it is based less on your athletic ability and more on your ability to ride a scooter, to do a specific thing, making it more of an art form than a sport.

I miss the days when everyone rode fro fun and had style. Now kids are all about throwing bangers non-stop. Most of these kids I see at parks now can barely even double whip flat, but theyll throw random sketchy bangers and think theyre the shit. Bangers and cool, but you should be able to land them clean, like the rest of your riding. Id rather have a bunch of big, simple tricks with style, then a handful of sketchy bangers.
The "bangers" always bring the ego too. Every time I go to a skatepark, all the local scooter kids that looked up to me throw some weird trick (usually a briflip variation), think theyre sooooo good, and ask if I can do it... I all together stopped doing bri's front and back. They might have a couple cool bangers, but I can actually ride lines, I can flow around in a bowl for a full run and not just one trick. And the best thing about it is that I know what style is, I know what tricks would be sick together in a line, I know a clean landing when I feel it. These kids know what they see from the flippy-dippy bullshit videos online.

In other words, I miss when the sport had more originality and style.

I hope the sport progresses into something similar to skateboarding. I disagree with you nick griffin we don't need less street elitists as other people said they are the minority in this sport and if you actually got of the computer for once you would find out how most riders feel about park, they like it. Here in Australia i actually get bagged out for riding street, the sport on the internet is entirely different than the sport in the real world
