I meant it was big for just one person who felt like killing people that morning. One person causing 33 deaths in one day is relatively big, if you dont consider Hitler and Saddam...

The guy was screwed up in the head, he was a loner, I doubt many people were nice to him...Did you see his stories he wrote? He like wrote about this kid who accused his dad of molesting him, and about these 3 teenagers who go to a casino and talk about killing their teachers...and the first girl who got killed, they said he wanted a relationship with her or something. But yeah, its a terrible thing. Pretty much every channel has it on right now.

ya americans are kinda stupid. they think we live in igloos. Once I talked to an american and he asked : "is it cold in an igloo?" and I said "no it gets pretty hot after a while being in it." Just to say how weird americans. And this shooting story is really bad. 33 deaths is BIG. If you plan on dying, dont bring everyone you can with you
Not to sound insensitive because what happened was terrible and the authorities could have prevented just about every single one of those deaths had they evacuated the school after the first shooting occurred before he opened fire again 2 HOUR LATER.... BUT 33 deaths is NOT big.

That many innocent people are dying in the middle east and all over the world every day in violent attacks and no one sheds a tear. Americans get so bent out of shape when their own die but they never think twice about others. I'm not going to sit here and place more value on my life or anyone else's over another but if anyone else is then you are a hypocrite. EVERYONE has their time and those people's time was yesterday morning. We would all be better off accepting death instead of fearing it and falling into the media hype.

That is my 2 cents.
Exactly. 30 people probably die every hour in schools in developing countries because of shootings and massacres, and none of use even bat an eye. But then again, in middle eastern news they probably don't have anything on this shooting, just like we don't have any news about some of the horrible crap that goes on there, but that's completely natural. It's an instinct for humans to care more about something that they can relate to; something that's closer to them.

I bet anyone though that video games were involved in making that fucker shoot 30 people at a university, because if you think about it, what better way is there to completely desensitize someone to the point that they think that killing other humans is acceptable...
FUCK THAT. Jack Thompson lover.

edit: the dude was obviously a little messed up in the head... http://newsbloggers.aol.com/2007/04/17/cho-seung-huis-plays/ - read the 2 scripts if your bored enough.
Dude, I hate jack thompson as much as you and I also play video games, but I'm saying that some people just weren't meant to play them because they're messed in the head and can't tell the difference between what is acceptable in a game and what is acceptable in real life.

Im pretty sure video games didn't play a role in this. The kid was mentally unstable, the school was notified about it, same with the cops (he was stalking 2 chicks). I don't have any proof to back this up, but my teach said today that the dude was like in a mental home or something but let out because they said he wasn't a threat to anyone but himself if he saw a therapist... bullshit.

i wrote this on the comeupbmx board too, so if it looks familiar....you're right.

upon thinking about it for a while on my couch, with some hot chocolate, i think i've figured out the kids motives behind it. im in no way sayint that what he did was right, or justifying what he did in any way.

he was a fucked up kid to begin with, no doubt about it. when he was in elementary / middle school / high school kids fucked with him cause he had a nasal, odd half american / half asian voice, (kind of like mine) so he just NEVER talked. I would assume this would create some sort of psychological damage on him, making him not want to talk to ANYONE and make him basically want to shut out everyone else other than himself, explaining why he didn't talk to his dorm mate who tried to be his friend / be friendly.

well, actions speak louder than words right? seeing as to how he was as close to mute as you can get without being mute, ruthlessly killing 33 people could have been the "loudest" way of saying "fuck you" to all the kids who used to fuck with him back in the day. noone would have listened to him if he posted his problems on the internet, they probably woulda lol'd at him, and he saw this as the right thing to do in his mind, so he didn't think he was fucked up in the head, so a psychologist was out of the question for himself.

well, i was high when i thought about it so i gotta be right, right?

I just did a current events report about this study about violent video games. As it turns out video games do NOT cause gamers to be violent in real life. In fact, for gamers, and I quote "The violence helps make the play exhilaratingly out of reach of ordinary life." But it also does say that for "unhinged" gamers it desensitizes them for violence in real life. something like that. Well if you want to read more heres a link: http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/fun.games/04/18/violent.video.games.reut/index.html

Yup. And they searched the kids room, there was no video games in there.

I was reading an old Playstation Magazine and in the back one of the editors was saying something about the effects of violent video games on kids. I thought it was really appropriate for the occasion, even though it was written before the massacre.

"There is a game that is rooted in American culture, that appears to be just as violents as it looks. Theres frequent, documented evidence of players and even spectators committing real world crimes. Players routinely inflict real, phisical injuries upon there opponents in typical play. There were 23 documented deaths associated with this game in 2001 alone. But in spite of all this evidence, this game is not only tolerated in this country, but acutally celebrated. Young people are encouraged to play it, highschools even hold weekly competitions on school property! And those who do it professionally are paid on average, millions of dollars a year. You have probably even played it your self.

It's called football.

And why isn't anyone concerned about the likelihood of kids raised on football going out and randomly chasing, tackling, or stiff arming innocent bystanders on the street?

Becuase it's just a game."

amen.

Are you fucking retarded, football is a fucking sport, the deaths that happen from it are accidental, so are the deaths that happen in almost every other sport besides extreme suiciding.

And I don't really actually think that video games had an effect on the kid, but I was just going by the stereotype that most Asians play computer games..
