Would it be okay to use a thick steel pipe to reinforce my fork?

Or should I stick to using a cut down t-tube in my fork?

The pipe is a very tight fit. It's going to take a while to pound it into my fork and I was wondering if pounding it in with a mallot would just have the opposite effect and just break it.

I haven't found a perfect fit that just "slides" in

The t-tube is a bit too small and the pipe I'm planning on pounding in barely fits, but I know I can get it all the way in.

Wrap the t-tube in tape. Works a charm.

Exactly. I've heard people recommend tape but if it isn't a snug fit, it's still going to break.

I used a t-tube off of an old a, it works mad good in my fork tube, all tight and whatnot.

Yea i had this scooter once, and it had handles on it that were like a bigger OD than a Ttube. So i used that to reinforce my threaded SR a while back and it's like perfect. No tape and i just banged it in and it's soooo tight, it's sexy.

I finally pounded it all the way in, and I have to say I'm not exactly excited about the noticable weight gain of my scooter.

It weighs like a pound and a half more damnit

If you had to put so much tape around it to get it to fit 'snuggly', it obviously isnt going to do anything.

get your pipe, and get it machined down to size......... or do it yourself with a grinder or something i spose. if it dosnt fit exacly right, there is no point in it at all as a few other people hvave said/

i used to do that. but it didnt make my forks any stronger

i used a thick steel trolly pole 2 do mine. i only had 2 put one layer of tape on and it still holds up 2 this day.
