X Games 14

Dechamp would have had it if he

1- used the 75' jump. It's more mellow so it should be easier to front flip off. He also landed flat, or would have had he not bailed.

2 - fully committed. He stopped looking and slowed his rotation. He dove back down bu it wasn't enough. Even if he wouldn't have hopped off the back, his bike made the rotation AND landed on its own, so I believe he would have landed it.

Still props to him for trying it.

Who won skate big air with what trick? I was getting some chocolate syrup at the time. I think the last thing I caught was Bob's switch kickflip indy or whatever.

bob did a switch backside 180 (no grab) then 360 indy to fakie on the quarter

kagy is in first with a flip whip and a huge flairwhip

dave is in second with a 3 flip no hander to flairwhip

k rob about to go...

EDIT: k rob just did the most pathetic dub flair attempt i've ever seen lol.

EDIT2: i really think dave should have won

Tonight's BMX Park!! I think, I hope K-Rob doesn't win, if he does it's a 3peat

Bastard tried to beat Hoffman's big air, pshhhh.
he did beat hoffmans air

Umm, no? He couldn't even get close to the 26.6' but they still said it was "27'" cause it was a big Red Bull event and they didn't want to ruin it. No footage of this event shows him any close to 27' and it looks tiny compared to old Hoffman's record air.

Flip triple was nuts and dave's 360 no hand flip doesn't even look ugly now, haha. He was so sketchy with that trick that I had no idea that it was possible for him to stick it on the megaramp. Laughed so hard at the dub flair attempt, I usually never laugh at bails if people get hurt but nothing happened here.

Also watched superpark qualifying, loved how EVERYTHING except Dhers winning was different from a standard park comp. The mini run/jam format is perfect for this and I can't wait to see the finals. Spinner was funny with the 'I can't ride that park for shit but at least I can triple the tiny hip' attitude.

that was pretty awesome. fuck yeah dave mirra, that guy is seriously the king of anything transition related when it comes to bmx, it's crazy to think how he's still SO good after all of the years at the top. my only issue with him is his wife, damn that chick is beat.

also, morgan wade is the man. i love his attitude, i wish everyone had that. and anthony napolitan is crazy for even trying a flip triple whip.

my only question is where were dhers/spinner? they're the dudes that spend the most time in the foampit, and they win every contest with their box jump tricks, yet they don't have the balls to throw them down over a 50/70 ft gap? dave mirra is in his mid 30's and he's got no problem throwing a no handed 360 flip over a 50 ft gap, so where is dhers with his corked 720 or spinner with his quad whip? if napolitan is willing to throw a triple upside down, he can step up and throw 4 regularly. so yeah, what little respect i had for those 2 before this contest is now gone.

well i think since they're both young yet, and at the top of their game, they'd rather not risk killing themselves on the mega ramp quite yet. think about it, if you were winning every comp you entered would you want to spoil your chances for a very long and successful career? most of the mega ramp riders are older, more experienced, and are probably kinda bored with regular comps. so give it 5-10 years, they'll be on the megaramp when they're done with regular comps.

anthony napolitan is the same age as me. he dropped in on a 60 ft rollin (4 times the size anyone on this forum has ever seen), then he went upside down, and spun 28lb bicycle frame 3 time around his bars. he then wrecked himself, going about 30mph, and got up smiling. he didn't win the contest, but he proved to me that he's a true rider and earned the respect of everyone that saw that.

while this was going on, mike spinner was sitting around bitching about the fact that he has nowhere to pull a 1080...

Big air was beasttt. I loved Morgan Wade's first run with just that plain superman, he help that for like almost 3 seconds.
