Addict posted this on facebook this morning...

Hey Shredders,
So we’ve heard the complaints about the back axle problems that a lot of you have been experiencing. We’re sorry to admit that it’s a defect, and we’re already working on a solution for the next batch of decks. If you have a broken deck, contact the shop you bought it from and they should give you another one on the warranty. In the mean time you can put spacers on the outside of the axle to save the deck from cracking and BE CAREFUL about tightening your axle too much. For all those who have some how managed to banana the deck. We’re sorry but you need to land your tricks cleaner ;) It’s like anything, skateboard or bmx, if you land on the wrong spot with all your weight, it’s gonna break.

Good job I waited! I guess the banana thing won't be a problem for me - I weigh like nothing and look at the stuff I ride (top link in my sig) :)

The Addict get is going through alteration, here's what's up

- The back of the deck is cut on a slant instead of a vertical line, so that will be changing

- The factory fucked up the colour of Maxime Legand's deck my making it baby blue instead of dark blue so that will be changing ^^

If they're having the slanted bits taken out and others put in how will that affect the weight? And their all important balance point?

If Maxime can barspin that drop he did this year at street jam and not have the deck bend or break I think it's safe to say you need to be clean with your riding and the deck will have your back.

I watched video of one bending and it was a front scooter flip off Paris Bercy 5 Block and he committed after he caught the deck with both feet at the headtube. Didn't have a chance.

decks are more prone to bananaing(fucked up the spelling but whatever) the longer the deck is. they are also more prone to bananaing if you land on the wrong part of the deck(like previously mentioned the headtube) so basically what they're saying is if you want a deck to last long then land right. btw when addicts are getting bananad thats when most decks snap, so be grateful it still possible to ride

not a problem my end, i got parts that flex instead of solid parts that bend other parts and its bigger than the average scooter, the addict as a complete does the same thing.
putting parts like thick steel bars and solid forks makes the stress head to the deck but if you even it out with bars and forks that are slightly thinner but have a little bit of flex thanks to good material properties which gives you a far more responsive feel of what you are doing, distributes the stress evenly, gives you a lighter thus easier to control tricks and landings.

If you land bad when doing something once, it's not gonna be a problem (unless you land really hard) its repeated stress that's the problem

Hi guys
The rear axle problem can be resolved very easily.
I have sold many Addict decks and all have been good thus far.
When i first assembled our first Addict, i noticed when the axle and spacers were fitted, the wheel had 2mm side to side movement.
If you tighten the shit out of the axle, you can flex the deck and close the gap up.
This is totally not the thing to do ,as flex will lead to cracking in this area.
Every Addict i have sold i supply fitted 2 speed washers 1mm thick to each side of the spacers.
This gives the wheel no sideways movement , and no need to flex the deck on axle assembly.
The speed washers cost about 50c each.
PROBLEM FIXED
