i dont think its that raw districts are "in", its just that raw decks are cool, and the v2i is a very popular and affordable deck.

v2i's are the best. ive had mine for like 10 months now.

ive had a raw v2i since the beginning of summer.

magray and phantom make flexys that fit v2i's with no mods drilling holes isnt that hard though.

both my vertx wheels sucked, and i remember other users posted that their vertx wheels wore down fast.

my friend has stel trees and i hate them. my hands always catch the gussets :( and those flexys look sick af.

i would just get an ultra pro and change out the grips and griptape. once your son starts breaking parts, you can upgrade them, and eventually he will have a fully custom scooter.
