Maybe it's just me not being keen enough on the atheists' claims but I don't see what does this article refute. It's pretty obvious that the human perception is limited and there's no way we can learn the whole truth about the reality (although we're not limited only to the 5 senses as Kant states, we also have the reason which allows us to make assumptions and theories, prove them or expand our perception using technology).

it's kind of a circular argument. atheists are always saying "prove to me there's a god and i'll believe it, until then i won't". the article is basically saying there are some things that can't be proven since they are simply beyond what our mind can comprehend, so the atheist argument of "prove it" is invalid.

but either way, in 50 years computers will be smarter than people and then we can just have them figure it out for us.

The computers rely on input data, which in this case won't be much more than we have today. But yeah, according to Kurzweil's law of accelerating returns, the technological progress rate is exponential so the progress will become so fast when the computers become powerful enough to upgrade themselves. This sounds pretty scary to me, but if only we will be able to control them it's will be an awesome kick forward for the humanity.

Its a nice article though Sean, but i think that Christians are just as one sided as Atheists might be. I don't think think that one can be said is more one sided. I try not to be like that though, I'm not Atheist until i die. I'm Atheist until someone proves to me there is such thing. So far this fairy theory hasn't come to the plate.

I found you a video Dylan. It's about creation and evolution. In other words it gives both sides of is there a God or not. It's long but if your as interested as I think you are, you will watch it and it will make yourself stand firmly for sure on a side.

Kent Hovind Debate

I can totally see why you would be atheist, but then again if you just say that the only reason that you believe in a god is simply "faith", thats stupid as well. Thats like saying you are going to jump off a building because you have faith there is no such thing as gravity, i think you honestly have to think about it. From the believers point of view, you have to think as brian said before, if god put here, then who put god here? And from the atheist side, you have to think, who put us here? But if your argument is just that theres no possible way that there is a god, think about all the galaxies and tons of unexplored shit there is out there, and you have to think, maybe there is a god. I just had like an hour long religious conversation with my brother who kind of thinks like me, my baptist aunt, and her brainwashed child. It was sad, because my aunt and her son honestly think it is a scientific fact there is a god and jesus is gods son. I want just a plain religion thread where you can post your beliefs, someone make one!

Atheism makes absolutely no sense, of course there is a god, or at least some kind of higher being. I just don't exactly know WHAT i believe in specifically.

how could you say that? hhaa
I can't, but how does no god make ANY sense at all?
How does god make sense at all?

I'm not really into the whole religion thing. I'm not 'atheist' but i don't really believe in any religions. I'm on my own. I don't really care if there is a god or not, I'm already here, I'm not gonna waste my time worshiping some god dude, or bitching about if im here just because of science. I goto church on christmas and easter to make my parents happy, but i ignore what goes on in there. Whatever...
I don't think you should really just blow it off, i disagree with a lot of the catholic church but either way i believe in god, and of course the main question you have to ask is; if theres no god, who put us here? A god just makes sense, i don't really see god as any major church or religion sees it, in my mind no matter what god you believe in, whether you are catholic, buddhist, or whatever, its all the same god, and then that brings me to the question of whether or not i believe in heaven, if i do, then i think no matter what you believe or what religion you are, you will go there; although i'm not too sure about a hell. i still don't know much about reincarnation, but that doesnt sound any more farfetched than a heaven, so i really don't know what i believe yet, and i really doubt this paragraph will make sense.

well dan, yesterday you called me an idiot for not believing in evolution because it was a scientific fact but here you say that God created life, so what do you beleive

and second i don't think budist believe in God, only a hightend state of awareness
