I consider myself a expert on bearings,i build my own using aftermarket races, seals and balls D)
I compiled a guide on bearings:
If you do a hella lot of tricks but slow speed-Abec 3 is for you
If you do a lot of tricks and moderate speed-Abec 5 is what you should rock
If you do a few tricks and fast speed-Go for abec 7 and roll
If you do hardly any tricks-Abec 9 should rock your boat
If you do no tricks but fly like Hell-abec 11 suits you*
Above is based on tricks and speed
Why?
Well the faster you go the higher the abec rating you should go but the more weaker the bearings become so if you do extreme tricks on a abec 11 your gunna be busted.
I ride abec 5 becuase its faster than a abec 3 but stronger than a abec 7,9 or 11
If you never clean your bearings get some bones swiss with labrynth seals.
*If your seroius about speed and want the absolute best get some ceramic bearings(do not do tricks on these as the ceramic balls can crack)
Lube your bearings with a bit of speed cream every month or so,If you have ceramic bearings like i used to ride them dry as they dont overheat or seize
