for subs i would go with some alpine type r's preferrably a 10 it sounds alot cleaner but thats just me and an amp its just up to you how much you want to spend i like audiobahns especially the ones with the cooling fans in it you can find a 500w one for cheap and it will give you enough power. and for a box DO NOT get a bandpass, but either just a regular one or one thats ported are nice. all i can think of for now.

JL's are probably one of the best quality you can get, but also much more expensive.

You live in so cal there has to be so many tuner shops haha. Just go find somewhere that you hear is good (somewhere you won't get ripped off)... tell them you want something that will hit the hardest for under xx amount of money. That way you dont even have to install yourself.

i got 2 12 inch mtx thunders i have the loudest car on campus at home and when m in the bronx i set off at least 4 car alarms where ever i go get them for 400 with box and subs

o i forgot. if you want the best sub that can withstand the most power go with the orion hcca series. it was tested with all sub brands and orion could take the biggest licks

I got myself banned.
Check out MTX JackHammer 12" subs ($90x2) , and the MTX Terminator TN200/2 mono amp ($130) (or go 4 channel if you want). I hooked this up for my friend over the summer after he bought them off a kid for $200 along with a Kenwood headunit. I don't know much about amp and speaker brands, but these things are out of fucking control. Car alarms go off without effort. So if you have $400 to spend you could get that setup plus an enclosure than maybe spend some extra money on speakers.

I have 2 10" xtant subs and a kenwood amp that i got for free, it does the job pretty good.

I recommend installing it yourself if you have any knowledge of wiring, even though you don't need to know much to hook the amp up (power wire from the battery, ground somewhere in the trunk, run RCAs from the radio and a remote wire from the radio... not too hard.)

whats the difference in 2channel or 4channel amps? and is it like necessary to get new speakers or does it really matter

so should i get one of these

or

i looked around and it seems like the 12" jackhammers would basically rock my car apart haha, i dunno if i want subs that hit THAT hard but i still want something that will hit hard without my car falling apart haha
