im pretty sure it hit my computer my other one i was on sr and it randomly shut the entire computer down but the power light was still on i pressed it a couple times did nothing so i held it down it turned off and now it wont turn on....

it hasnt been activated yet. so thats not it.

all it did on April 1st was update itself and make it harder to track/take out

So true. I liked my mac, that is until it just randomly died without any warning at all. And I barely ever used it. Would have cost $700 to fix it too because you have to send it to apple and they are bitches. PC's are way better..and you wont get viruses if your smart.

no its activated but the people behind it must write instructions for the program which im sure they have done and after that release it on to the web

*my tech shop class is trying to find out what happens .. so fun

umm im pretty sure its not. you dont activate a virus, then give it directions. you normally have it ready.

but if not then can your prove it to me with a article or something

You can do whatever the hell you want with a virus. Ever hear of a trojan?

Thats all there is to a mac. They look like every other mac, they perform the same, hardware is limited, software is limited, everything is expensive. I enjoy being able to update my hardware, being free to install any software and know that it will run, i can even install OSX! Why bother being stuck in the constraints of a glittery OS? I'd rather be able to do anything i want. Windows XP is the best OS, period.

I'm currently using Wubi so I have a duel boot system with Windows and Ubuntu.

Never said i didn't. Im not too good at linux though. I have Yellowdog on my PS3

As discussed widely in the media (and in a server-melting blog post here), Conficker was scheduled to go live on April 1 (local time), which meant it would no longer sit dormant on your computer but would rather begin polling the web for its instructions.

And as I mentioned as a possibility yesterday, those instructions have not yet been delivered despite the arrival of D-Day, so while Conficker is indeed "phoning home," no one is answering the call.

and btw i wasnt trying to like start an arguement or anything out of this haha. i just said what i knew and i never heard anything about it being activated i just heard from everywhere else nothing happened
