Deck design

I need some ideas to a deck design. My dad going to teach me to weld and i am going to make a one piece deck... =D it would also be nice to get some fork designs!

I will come up with some drawings tomorrow

i said that in a different thread and got flamed by like 40 people who all said aluminum. pretty sure that means you should make it out of aluminum.

with the right design itll be strong. pros are aluminum, and someone said in a different thread the proto deck was aluminum? not too sure about that one.

Id rather have a heavy deck that wont break then a deck that is very light that will snap/bend.

dont be a weight freak wen making a deck, aim for strength more than weight.
otherwise you will regret it
ide say use chromoly.

cuz its lite chromo is heavy

its stronger so you could use less of it.

but i would personally make a really strong chromoly one that would last a long time and not worry too much about weight

i want a strong light deck. look at spots that dont get any stress and spots that do. have a removable grind plate at the bottom so you dont damage the deck itself when grinding, and when the plate is done you can grind off the weld and weld a new one (spot welds)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an idea... or many ideas just looking for some other designs... =) + I like the idea of the grinding plate

or screw in grind plates so you're not grinding and welding all the time
