i just had an idea instead of having doublclamps and all that y cant u just drill at the bottom of the stere tube right at the fork tube would that work???

I think with a bolt, it was even easier to knock your ankle or leg to the thing. Even if you cut it short. I think a double locked clamp is enough. Its easier to take in and out too. Well, you can try it out if you want but I personally don't think its such a great idea. Good luck if you do.

Not really, because if that were true people wouldn't bolt thier T bars to make them less likely to hit thier knees on it.
Besides, an axel sticks out perhaps 1cm on either side.
I dunno, if I had a drill I'd try it out on an old scoot I have.

I have drilled through the fork and attached my bar with a bolt, the diffrence is that Ive drilled it below the bottom headset, so my bar acts also like a fork reinforcement.

Ã?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?â? Ã¢â?¬â?¢Ã?Æ?ââ?¬Â¦Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?â??llar had a fork which went smoothly over to steertube, so the forktube and steertube was as in 1 piece (not 2 pieces welded together or anything, smooth 1 piece), it had to be installed from the bottom and that's why the steertube was thinner too for its diameter.

Pics? I'd be really interested to see what you did with it.

Clamps at the top( t tube) is a quick realease clamp which has that monster pointy thing pointing at you. It is also more or less around most people's knee area and thats why people took it out. Get rid of the pointy part by throwing the whole crap away and using a bolt which does not point at you.

The clamp at the bottom has no pointed part and like many people said, a bolt weakens the fork and stuff. It is not needed to me. It does not hit my or anything and lets say that with a bolt it really will never hit you, it still weakens the scooter some way. Better to hit your ankles sometimes then riding and your scooter breaks and you fly around.( the clamp has never hit me though)
