I have been in contact with Fuzion. They are coming to our Xtreme Wheels Scooter Comp on July 14th with a contest within our contest. They have awesome prizes and a contest plan. I am pleased to unite another action sports industry with our event. Below is the 1st and 2nd messages they sent me:

1st message:

Dear Virginia,
As a regular member on Scooter Resource and as a representative for Nextsport Inc. (www.nextsport.com) I am contacting you to express our interest in adding a competition division specifically for Fuzion riders. Many of the Razor/Micro riders that have competed in your past scooter events are familiar with the Fuzion- as a new product on the market we would like to get out and meet athletes from all disciplines of action sports to help get feedback and add to our pool of sponsored riders.

Our proposal is to add a Fuzion division between the already scheduled Advanced and Best trick divisions of the competition. We will bring 4-8 Fuzion units to the competition for scooter/skateboard/rollerblader/BMXers that would like to enter but have not tried the product and expect to have 5-10 Fuzion riders in attendance from the area. We may possibly even fly in some of our paid riders for demo/competition purposes. Cash prizes specifically for this division will be provided by us and we would be more than happy to provide gift packages for the winners of other divisions as well. For safety and supervision purposes we would have 2 or more Nextsport employees in attendance there to help answer questions and concerns and judging for the competition. We also be more than happy to provide help with setup and teardown processes or any other assistance you may need.

Additionally, as I mentioned we will provide 4-8 units at the event for last minute/new entries- these units will be given/raffled off at the end of the day or if youÃ?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?â??Ã?¢Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¡Ã?â??Ã?¬Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¾Ã?â??Ã?¢d like we could leave them with you for use in the park for the general public. We will also raffle off a Fuzion messenger bag and a new Carbon. In the interest of sponsorship and building our riding team we will be open to accepting as many athletes that seem interested into the first stage of our sponsorship process (see Offer Letter and Contract attached). Should we be able to confirm more entries into the Fuzion competition I would be more than happy to up the prize monies as well for everyone that is participating with the Fuzions.



I cannot confirm at this point but I may be able to secure one of our prototype units (that will not hit stores till Fall 2007) for demo purposes with our team riders. I don't really like the idea. I know its already like set in stone and everything, so I won't really try to convince you otherwise. I just don't think that fuzions and scooters should be at the same comp. I'm completely down for fuzion holding their own comp and with all the money they are willing to put towards it I'm sure it would be a big success for them, but I just don't like the idea of the merger all that much.

Another thing though, when Nextsport first came onto SR awhile ago, everyone was hating on them because we said they were just trying to advertise their product for a profit and like 'convert' our riders to fuzion riders. We slowly started to get over it and now they are pretty much doing all the stuff that they said they weren't i guess? Talking about (advertising in my view) all the new products and their paid teams and everything.

It's not my decision to make and you being much more experienced with business like things, I'm sure your doing things right and ill trust your decision Virginia. Just wanted to add my input.

If theres a fuzion there i can ride i'll gladly do it, no way i'd be able to haul my fuzion across the country, but if i can ride one there i'm in.

I'm sorry that you feel this way Matt even after our past conversations and support. The fact of the matter is that we are not here to "convert" "take over" or make riders do anything. As a budding sport and for the sake of scooter riding alone, we are stepping up and offering opportunities for athletes across the country to make something of it with REAL corporate backing. If you choose to continue solely riding 2-wheeled scooters that's great. If you choose to ride a Fuzion product we're more than happy to provide all the support we can to make scootering the sport that the COMMUNITY has wanted it to be all along.

It's not a "with us or against us" type situation, but obviously it doesn't make sense for us to promote and put money behind a product that we don't make. For the riders that choose to be on the Fuzion team and want to pursue the path of becoming a fully professional rider, we welcome you. If not, we wish you the best of luck and invite you to at least support your fellow Fuzion scooter riders to really push the sport along.

Darren, I don't mean it in a bad way really. I just think scooter comps and fuzion comps should be different, not fused together. Its ok, i might even enter if i have one of my fuzions working by then, im just not into the idea too much. Promoting scooters = first priority for me.

agreeing with dibbs... not to be mean or insulting the "nextsport" but scooters arent that big yet. hold up on the whole fuzion deal.

Why don't we host the Scooter Comp with Fuzion as our guest and just see how it goes? It may just be a great time, or it may not be what you wanted in the end. Lets let the days activities unfold and take it from there. Keep an open mind, focus on your riding, have fun, and simply enjoy the experience. I have put a lot into this event and love the fact that this is our 2nd Scooter Comp already. The scooter community is amazing, you guys are the best and I am looking forward to July 14th.

Kenny, your a whore. You don't love. Anyways it'd seem like they'd go through alot of Fuzion's though? Don't people brake them alot?
