Mitch is right guys. Lucky parted ways to move into a bigger factory and for a better oppurtunity.
Lucky designed and these guys produced.
Now that lucky parted, these guys are making some quick cash by throwing a old, well established company under the bus.
Wrong.
r dubya, why on earth would anyone pay an unknown company that knows nothing of scooters to design and produce parts for one guy?
Also why would someone even start a company without any product ideas and designs? Exactly, you wouldnt.
Also if they did design them, why take action now? why not when the first started?
Wrong.
Neither of you here have actually seen the VertX parts in person. If you had you would realise that there are some drastic differences between their parts, and Lucky parts.
I will start with the deck. Yes, Lucky designed it, and VertX made it. Therefore it is Lucky's design, and nobody else can use that design... but VertX haven't done that. They have made a newer design for the deck. They have taken an Evo deck and completely stripped it down, to start from scratch with a new design based around an I-Beam structure. It has had unnecessary metal remove, and it has had other designs added. Therefore making the weight, shape, structure, and size different to a Lucky.
Next is the head tube. Everyone who tested for VertX, have been sent those head tubes because they were spare, and VertX don't produce them anymore. (They can't anymore because it is Lucky's own product.) They have made their complete own range of head tubes to avoid stealing designs from Lucky.
Also the forks, yes they still make the SMX. I don't know why they do, but they do. Not much I can say for that. But at least they have started from scratch with 2 other forks, and come out with completely unique designs that are nothing like any Lucky products. Therefore, they have a right to call it their own yes? Yes.
I'm not going to go into either the wheels or bars, because there are only so many designs you can have, and it's not as if other companies have made products exactly the same as theirs. But look at the brake, they have been working on that for a long time, and it is a new, unique, possibly revolutionary design that works very well and has stolen no ideas from other companies.
Lastly, all this bullshit about them not being a Rider Based company is trash. You don't need to ride to be able to make good parts, and at the same time care about the sport. They made parts for Lucky. They saw many and many of their parts break through testing, so they are very experienced, and they know what they are doing. They know more than a lot of the riders out there that think they know everything about how to run a company.
Anyway, I will let you form your own opinion. I will stick with the opinion that they are legit, and that they have every right to make the products they do.
