I enjoy scootering a lot but theirs so many things that I could do if I commited more like easy shit like disasters i can never commit to them ive been riding for a long time i know my way around a scooter. Like i dont commit to the stupidest shit like a downledge that sketches me out and its not even that big i know i could do it also some rails. I dont think the fear is falling because i know how to break my fall and bail idk though it could be any tips i already trieed music it sometimes helps basically how to i stop being a pussy and just fucking commit

There isn't really much to it, you literally just need to send it. I suppose being more comfortable on your scooter would help

Just don't be a pussy and do it. I'm not complaing about how many threads you're making but try to keep them so that your not like making random shit up. Like it's fine if you're wanting to talk about something random but put it in the scootgossip thread. But nice to meet you I am Grayson.

yea its only on high obstacles like rails im not used to like i have a rail at home sketchy ass circle rail wit ha bend in thee middle but i feel so comfortable with it like its held down by books screwed into it and its decently tall and i find its less sketch than a bolted in square rail thats a bit taller like i dont understand i cant hit the non sketch one but i can hit the bendy sketchy circle rail that moves when u grind it

Just fucking go for it, if you go home hurt but still tryed the trick you will be more happy than if you pussied out.

A bit of a bump, but I used to have trouble with this forever ago when I rode more.
Honestly man, after living a bit longer and seeing some of the literal struggles that people encounter, a physical inability to commit to something like a scooter trick seems trivial. That being said, it's a mental strength thing. Work up to the trick, and do it. Simple.

Committing doesn't happen when you're about to hop, or even when you're running up. It's while you're staring at the rail, start of your run up, scooter in one hand - just think to yourself "this is the one - i'm hopping on the rail this go" and don't let that thought leave your head. While you're rolling up to the rail, your head should be going a thousand thoughts a second, and every one of those should be "i've got this shit"

i agree in some ways but for me it help to have a long as run up so you can push to get speed then be able to just stand and your scooter and really focus on the tric,

Listen to music, relax yourself and just don't think of it. Stop being a pussy and just go for it!

Pointing out that this thread has 2 useful comments imo, rest being "you pussy, just do it" (nice work quoting Nike, they got you hook, line and sinker) which ignorantly explains the end point but not the path to the solution, this can possibly put some in more danger. I found them kind of people to be of no help back in the days of the similar issues. I'll be brief as i see fit here.

Past experiences and proper encouragement is the key for a lot of riders but we aren't all the same, your case might be that you compare yourself to another rider you look up to or "compete with" or even started riding with but they are going somewhere that you feel you can't keep up with anymore. This produces unrealistic expectations of yourself and that can fail on many levels as you might realize.

With that situation, look at the bigger picture is a start. Do you emulate someones riding style or tricks? Do you ride or even communicate with people who you can truly relate with on more than just scooters or simply your view on scooters? Are you aiming for a lofty goal like sponsorship by your favorite company or shop? Are you looking for what makes you "better" or "unique" to others?

If you answered yes to anything else apart from the second question, ask yourself logically why it is a problem. The answer may be a surprise if you expect these things to be fulfilled without some contemplation. As @TheObserver mentions, look at other people dealing with real life problems, you can learn a thing or two if you are attentive as to how to they solve their problems with self inquiry and asking others for some help. Don't be embarrassed if the help is available like as on this forum but don't just ask your favorite name, read what they say without the bias of their name or reputation and come to that conclusion.

@Aaron summarized the how if none of the above applies to you brilliantly as he does naturally.

You need to tell yourself before you even get to the spot that your going to throw it. Don't just think that maybe you'll throw think that I'm going to do this and I got. Having a large ball sack also helps.

Another thing that used to help me was to not overthink it. Don't stand infront of a rail and think about what you're going to do and how it can end badly, because you'll just scare yourself more..
