These two images, Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â?¦Ã¢â?¬Å?American Flag RaisingÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â??Ã? and Andy Warhol's Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â?¦Ã¢â?¬Å?Marlyn MonroeÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â??Ã? are two influential and well known images in society, which I why I chose to recreate those two images. The colors for each are symbolic, the red shades used for the Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â?¦Ã¢â?¬Å?American flag RaisingÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â??Ã? are all shades of red Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?â?? symbolizing the bloodshed in war, another noticeable feature of the re-creation is the simplicity, I attempted to make the image reicnisable using as little shapes as possible, to give a clear and decisive image that projects to the audience immediately, the fact that the soldiers are lacking heads is also an important part of the image, it is showing that they are mindless, although it is not attempting to claim the soldiers have no intelligence, it is simply claiming that war itself is mindless. Although the image is known heavily throughout America as an extremely heroic photograph I believe otherwise.
