internal threaded compression?

i could have sworn ive seen this somewhere but has anybody ever tried threading forks from the inside? ive seen bikes do it. and i think it would be almost as strong as threadless because there arent any threads on the outside creating an easier breaking point between the threads. and it would probably stay dialled longer. idk, ive never tried it nor have the money to. opinions?

Yeah, thats the standard on most bikes, And you don't have to worry about starnuts. You just thread the compression cap into the fork, right?

id think itd be a perfect match with hic or scs. but andrew wud prolly be kinda pissed cuz he spent soo long trying to avoid threads haha

Its not the same as threaded, thats why bikes have it. It doesnt weaken the forktube because theres no threads where the clamp would clamp onto

i wanna try it. but the only bad thing would be dealing with wall thickness. like they would have to have a custom cap for thicker/thinner forks. unless .085 and .120 are the standards. then ud just need 2

if you thread the inside of the fork tube it weakens it aka drive light forks, but i have og sunday forks and they have a welded peice in their with threads built into the welded peice, its basically what phorx have

well i just thought. you dont need to thread it as far as an externally threaded fork. u just need to thread one or two inches so its not threaded at the weak point and it will prolly still work

yeah your forgetting that the Phoenix Phorx have it. Inward's do. and I think scorchers might.

you they should do it like this

the bad thing about the way that they do it on phorx is that you cant run ics on it without drilling it out and loosing the opertunity to switch back to hic/scs after using ics but with it being bigger like the picture you could run ics or hic/scs at anytime

you wouldnt be able to run any of those on this either.

how wouldnt you you would run the cap just like you use a normal cap the outerdiamiter of the cap would still be able to be the same as it is on the conventional style cane creek or fsa normal stly cap
