Hi guys! (This is no sale advertising!)
The F 69th organisation (former bike x-games rider nico, former burton snowboard rookie benni, I and help from the freestyle scooter szene) wants to innovate a new type of scooter. We want to make it possible that freestyle scooters are in the same range like bmx, inline and skateboard.
The new scooter (KMX) is from riders for riders...! So please give us your statement... Help us to do it better..
Please read the following description accurate!
If many scooter riders are seriously interested in this new freestyle scooter concept (please send a mail to robert_steinbach@hotmail.com), I will send back design pics as soon as possible.
DESCRIPTION
Traditionally, scooters consist of a frame having one or two tubes bent
to provide a mounting platform for a footboard.
KMX KickScooter MotoX KickBike MotoX
allows the rider to maintain a secure forward facing stance with both feet parallel
to the direction of travel and a combined center of gravity of both rider and
scooter centrally between the front and rear wheel irrespective of the vertical tilt
of the scooter, e.g. when driving through a pipe, pipe transition or while jumping.
The freestyle scooter comprises a frame with
high torsional strength, suitable for attaching pedals, a footboard or both thereto.
It is possible to operate the scooter in park- or street
freestyle fashion but also BMX race (downhill), dirt jump, slope style and downhill disciplines, when it has bigger wheels. The total mass of the scooter
is kept low, bit more than micro scooters, but less then childÃ?Æ?ââ?¬Å¡Ã?â??Ã?´s bmx.
It is possible to go big! (out of the ramp, dirt jump) - like bmx
Pedals may pivot horizontally to compensate for tilt of the
scooter when operating at various slopes, e.g. while operating within a half pipe.
This provides a secure stance and allows the rider to maintain a combined center
of gravity of rider and scooter safely above the scooter centrally between the
front and rear wheel.
It is possible to sliding the frame along an object, or performing grabs at the upper
frame portions. Pegs (like bmx pegs) allows various grinds and moves.
Summary:
The rider stands in a forward facing posture on two pedals mounted on each side of the
frame or a wide footboard. This is contrary to traditional scooter vehicles, in
which the feet are typically turned out of the direction of travel.
All freestyle scooter tricks are possible and also many typically bmx tricks are possible.
Its possible to go very fast and saefty, espacially while jumping high and turning in transitions....
Thanx for discussion about this thread!
If you also want to send us your freestyle scooter video.. fine! (720x576 or better, dv,..)
The tricks from the riders, (first ten videos we get) will be shown in the ispo brand new award video presentation of the new freestyle scooter KMX!
