Built this with my friend today...
Metal Ski Scooter vol.1:
- last year's steel skis
- chopped new-A deck (an inch or 1.5 shorter now)
- reinforced double-plate folding mechanism
- bolted foldy
- AHEADSET nice and too fast threaded headset
- old-A steeringtube
- pro-model T-tube (no bolts, no new grips, no mods)
- ducktape on the nose of the back ski (avoids smashing the deck)
Runs great, really fast and smooth. Its quite heavy for tailwhips, but still i can do them after a little warming up after not riding for 2 weeks.
I went to a big-air kicker, got some nice speed and i fell a lot of times, no pads no helmet - it was quite scary to ride down a 45-degree steep mountain without any protection. Soon i'll land the big-air gap (15-16ft from kicker to landing ditch), today, 1st time on a ski scooter, i got only 12ft.
Pics...
Upcoming double-nose (for fakies) skis are still in manufacturing. They had to come out day before christmas but now there are some problems...
