Ok, its because your probably running 1.6, this is why i hate it since they added grass etc it lags the fuck outa the game and for Jayjay, you have to put it in your appdata folder, it works perfect for me you must be doing somethign wrong.

(if you don't know how to get to the appdata folder its: Start > Run > %appdata% and then drop the .minecraft folder in their)

Arg, my program is being gay, all you do is download the file, open it with winrar and drag it into your appdata folder not that hard

and the game is amazing. name any game and i bet minecraft will be better than it.

(other than portal, half-life, tf2, and starcraft. those are the only games as good as minecraft.)

i did the 404 challenge and i failed so bad, at first i got a ton of supplies then i went down to the cave and i started to dig in the wall to make a house and then i fell in lava and died , im probably try it later again

Dude I raped that challenge. Here's how you do it:

Necessary things to get:
1. Saplings
2. Seeds
3. Cacti
4. Sand
5. Crafting bench
6. A stone sword, and pick
7. Enough cobble to protect yourself once you get down to the bottom.
8. Pork

Anything beyond that such as pumpkins or wool or anything is extra and not really needed.
You can make a furnace once you get underground and the first priority is to make a wheat farm, and then a tree farm. Once you get pretty settled in with that then you can start expanding and taking over new sections of cave.
My recommendation once you get settled is to find diamond for a pick and to make a portal to the nether ASAP. That way you can create a safe light source from either netherrack or lightstone for the caves as well as for your trees. My trees would catch on fire pretty quickly once they grew because of how close to lava they had to be to grow.
So yeah.
