my friend just bought an r6 and i love it haha. so there is a competition between the two.

You're going from a 426 to an R1...you just feel lucky? Cause you better be if you want to live more then 20 minutes. You obviously have no idea that kind of power an R1 has, especially coming from just riding a 426cc dirtbike. Not only is the power about 15x what you're used to but the riding style is completely different. I would not recommend it unless you're so lucky you piss 24kt gold. I've been riding for 17 years of my life and I ride an '06 R1 and ZX-5R Ninja. I can probably ride for another 20 years and become Valentino Rossi and I still would never be able to fully use an R1. Just my two cents. I'm not trying to call you a bad rider at all so please don't take this comment like that. I just don't want to have a bury another friend because they got cocky. I've already lost 4 to riding, and losing a fellow scooter rider to it would suck A LOT.

you make a good point of view but ive been riding a 1200cc bike for a while

the engine is too bulky and ive tested about 4 r1s and i love em. im only 16 and forshure you got alot more experience no doubt

If you feel like you can handle it then go for it, just watch out on the street though man. Be safe.
