i lol'd

my mom is in between...she yells at me when i buy things but encourages me to ride lol

In between. They recognize some tricks, and my mom thinks its kind of cool, but she gets pissed off how it always needs maintenance and how I "always spend money on it". I don't even have one piece bars, or an aftermarket deck. I just have a reinforced pro, and whatever wheels I can snag off someone, however I did buy a fork. I'm actually pretty cheap.

Haha same, I barely spend anything on scooters. Ive won or had people give me most of my stuff the only thing Ive bought on my scooter right know are my bars

my dad calls my scooter a skateboard. or a rollthing when he cant think of it. they have no idea why i spend money on it. there so confused

my parents are ok. my dad makes up trick names for whatever me or my friend is doing hell be like "woah, was that a jackhawk9000???" its kinda old but my mom is always encouraging me. it is kind of annoying though when she goes "oh that was great. (not sarcastic)" when i did some silly little whip or something. but my parents really helped encouraged me when they noticed i really was into scootering.

My mum is cool but my dad always says oh its just a fad you'll grow out of it when i buy parts or some shit like that when its obvious I wont coz i've been doing it for 4 years already

moved to discuss anything because original intent of thread wasn't really scooter related.

my parents are 53, dad knows a lot about what's going on in the world and reads wired and stuff so he's pretty up to date, my mom has a facebook and reads the paper and what not, so she basically knows what's going on, just nowhere near as well informed as my dad.

my parents are pretty progressive but almost hypocritical in a way, they're extremely accepting and open minded..especially to new research, except when the topic is drugs. no matter what you show them, their 53 years on earth still make them more qualified than a bunch of phd psychiatrists doing research.

My parents are cool. My dad is strict and old fashioned.. without him I wouldn't be as disciplined as I am today. He used to skate, a lot. Mom is a graphic designer. Shes cool and knows whats 'hip' haha. Shes got a sleeve done on her right arm. Both spent the majority of their life (19-40) in different parts of San Francisco.
I dont live with them anymore and hardly get to see them because they moved across the country to NY :(

my mom dosent really think much about it...and its really funny my dad helped me put in my headset so now he thinks he knows more about scooters than i do even though he tried to instal a star nut for me and put it in like a foot to deep
