Petition please sign!

Lil tony's right, well not about the not caring about people worldwide(i signed anyway). But you need to go knocking on peoples doors near where you plan to have the skatepark built (to show that local resident's don't feel it will be a nuisance etc). Also coming up with a formal letter with some form of proposal and a decent design(professional if possible) will help you out a load. Still me and my mates went about doing this about 3 years ago, we got 2000 signiatures(ish) and the local counsil politely told us to fuck off. So good luck.

Jake quit trying man you were to rude previously and as tony keeps saying online petitions DO NOT WORK. take up jameys idea im sure that will help you a lot better.

tell people the reasons why a skatepark would be a good idea, for example to keep kids off the streets, doing healthy activities that are fun, reducing the amount of obese children in America and bringing children together to hurt them selves every now and then. lol im joking but door to doors are your best bet. just don't go all mad again and start being rude tom people because they won't sign.

lmao, i loved that =]... made me chuckle my arse off...

Still he's a cheeky little ---, asking for help like that then mouthing off to suggestions. (had to censor myself there) haha...

well, no ones going to take you seriously unless youre over 25 and have a job. that isnt at a fast food joint. its pretty much the truth. how bout you get your mom or dad to ru the petition and sit outside of a busy store or mall having passerbys sign it. its the most efficent way to go about this situation.

thank you jamey and reuben. all the people telling me to shut up about this, learn politics. this is how it goes: if the taxpayers in your town want there money to go towards a skatepark, then they sign. the council is going to know if your doing this on the internet (even if its just 100 sigs), and they will laugh at your face. the council of your town want to know what the people that give them money have to say about it. not joe moe in australia. go around town and get people to sign it. its the only way of being close. you think its just "ill get 5 sigs and omg i have a local!" no. trust me. there is a lot that goes into this. they need to know how much to spend on this, location, insurance, weather or not to charge entrance, what if someone dies, restrictions, security, drug and alcohol abuse in the park, age restrictions, weather or not there are enough people in the town that want this for it to be worth it, and a lot of other bs. this isnt easy and if your trying to get this done good luck. but dont go up to them with an international petition because to them thats a joke.

no i am not. do NOT use this online petition. lock this thread or something because if they see one name not in there town (yes they check) they are going to shred it and tell you to gtfo

he makes sense, lock this thread and tell us how it goes in a few months time. keep us posted i hope you do get a local man good luck but once again online petition=fail

God this kid practically wants us to fly out to his skateparkless town to kick his head in. Jake026: yes i'm calling you a cheeky little shit, you came on here looking for help and at the first sign of critisism you snapped at everyone. If you're going door to door, have an actual plan then the chances are you'd get a grant and some land... Trust me! I know, i've done this before and it's worked; we made a small skatepark with two 5ft quaters and a jumpbox in the middle and a dirt-trail with the rest of the land commissionned. The online petition will only make whomever is overviewing your case question your integrity and standpoint, if you really work in your community to drive this idea (even spreading an effing rumor works, because kids end up getting their parents to ask the counsel if there are plans for a skatepark) you will succeed, otherwise you wont. If you're really committed spend a week in your town center on a campagne for a park, give out flyers promoting the good things a skatepark could bring and be prepared to come back at any negitivity (Someone saying "Skating promotes drug use", etc.).

Good luck with this but i think we've all given you enough advice, help and critisism for one thread and i can't be bothered anymore.
