Presidential Debate on Right Now

Yeah that was all kyle.

My views- Obama's tax plan, if executed correctly, kills the rich, and helps the poor(a little bit). McCains plan helps everybody, of course not the poor as much as Obama's plan would do. I dont care about social security/medicare at this point in my life haha. McCain be against universal healthcare..which i am more against than for..but i really wouldnt care. Iraq- McCain wants to pull out when we are done with the democracy deal. Understandable, since Bush already went in and screwed things up, staying in and finishing the job so there was some purpose isnt a terrible thing in my opinion. Pulling out quickly would be ideal and i dont think McCain minds if we are in there for centuries. Oh well, I haVe yet to go to Iraq..maybe democracy would be a good thing. It was forced, not a good thing. but what can Jonathon McCainathon do at this point? pull out? ok thats fine. Just leaves Iraq how they were, excepted now they have reason to want to kill us all. I have NO idea what will actually happen, whether we pull out NOW or stay in, so im not going to make a judgement. For the sake of our soldiers though..pulling out is ideal.

man. -T.J.

The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of ChristianityÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â??Ã?¦ I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God- John Adams

God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel-Benjamin Franklin, Constitutional Convention of 1787.

etcetc. anybody can find quotes proving/disproving this topic. But in refute to your beliefs, the above quote is in a written documentary of the actual convention.

Umm...McCain voted against abortion billions of times, Against the draft :). Against making birth control over the counter. Leaving same sex marriage and abortion to the states though...so its pretty pointless having an opinion on it. His immigration plan is ridiculuos. He is old and dying soon. Palin is no good. He WAS prisoner of war..which whether or not anybody wants to recognize this..is a tremndous thing and shows alot. In my opinion atleast, shows perserverance, strength, loyalty to the country, etc.

Im terrible with politics, but luckily there is the internet. Im voting for McCain, mostly because i still dont think Obama is the right person to run the country. Hes just too shady in my opinion. People he is organized with, his background and opinions on whites when growing up, :"I will stand with the Pakastan or Arab countries should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.", his pastor and that one quote about america(think about it..obama was a front row attendant for a long ass time. thats just one quote that got big...think how many other unfilmed quotes he attended to and agreed with for so many years", and slowly shifting towards a socialist country, etc. I just dont trust him as much as i do McCain. McCain may not make substansial progress like obama HOPES to, but i trust him with the country.

gotta love friday nights of doing nothing haha.
Obama's plan would kill the rich? How? Those who receive more from this country should put more back on, it is vital to the success of the nation. You cannot cut taxes on the wealthy when we have a 10 trillion dollar debt.

John McCain's healthcare plan is EXTREMELY important, because he is essentially deregulating healthcare. This will lead to thousands being denied healthcare based on preexisting conditions, less restrictions on the insurance companies, and is overall a terrible healthcare plan.

We need IMMEDIATE withdrawal from Iraq, not as john mccain puts it "maybe a hundred [years]". Iraqis for the last time DO NOT WANT US IN IRAQ, there was a HUGE protest the other day for the americans to get out of there country. We may believe democracy is the best kind of government, but we have no right to force it upon others and invade and destroy a country for absolutely no reason at all. This war if anything has made our country extremely more vulnerable.

John McCain is a war hero yes, but that in no way qualifies him to lead the country. If you go by those terms any detainee in gitmo is fit to lead the country.

I really dunno what you're talking about with those quotes.

Reverend wright? What about Palin's pastor? The whole witchcraft business and calling the Iraq war a divine miracle? And think about her religion which believes the world will end in their lifetime through a terrible war that they will welcome because in the end they will spent eternity with Jesus. So, we're giving the nuclear codes to someone who thinks the earth will end in their lifetime in a horrid war, classy.

And for the last time Obama is not a Socialist! Half the people who say he is don't even know what socialism is! What is so god damn scary about mild socialism anyways? Give us socialized medicine please! I would love that!

And that quote has nothing to do with Christianity, I'm not saying the founding fathers were atheists, but several were deists, agnostics, and there were several Christians. But above all, this country remains a secular nation, and is in no way, shape or form a Christian nation.

1) The rich would suffer greatly for undeserved justice to those whom are not as fortunate. In Obama's plan, they are getting taxed a HUGE(out of line inproportional) proportion of their income, which really is just unfair. As I specifically said, Obama would be LEADING TOWARDS socialism, which is NOT going to work! Sure right now its "mild socialism" now, but hello, "CHANGE"! Obama is all about radical change...and that is EXACTLY what will happen give him the proper time.

When it comes to the war i already made my point. I dont think we should be in, or should have gone in. But coming out now would do nothing but leave us MORE vulnerable than if we were going to stay in. If you want to bring in casualties, that is why they joined the army. Not that i, unlike ricky, want them death to happen. But we are talking about the ultimate safety of the US at this point.

Palin is not running for present. McCain is old as hell, but statistically probally isnt going to die in office. Alzheimers is a slow process anyway, he obviously is no where near any introduction stage of alzheimers, so chances are he is going to make it 4 years.

And yes, of course the US is a land of the free, secular nation, but it was FOUNDED ON THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIANITY. Religion should have nothing to do with the candidates/election though. Just thought id point that out.

I am voting for Obama.

I have a far-right cousin in WA state (retired pharmacist) who bragged & bragged how he anticipated the huge fall in the value of the US dollar. He wrote me that with a big decrease in tax income form the Bush/Cheney/Rove tax cuts, combined w/ no reduction in domestic spending, and a huge increase in military spending when Iraq loomed, that investors would soon realize that dollars would fall. The general next favorite investment is gold.

So my cousin bought LOTS of gold before it became the go-to investment alternative, saying that he knew how to buy it in a way that shelters any profit from federal taxes. Well, under Bush Inc. gold has gone up like crazy. The cousin is in great shape financially.

But get this. His reported income is low enough that his 30 year old dependent son (Psychosis) gets all his medical care & medicines paid for by the state, even though his total worth is in the low millions... based on what he's said.

As my cousin approaches 40 he worries about who will care for his son, or the questionable hoard, when he dies. The kid is nice-enough when medicated, but is unstable, & cousin has no other heirs that he hasn't already alienated. His daughter killed herself in her early teens. The ex-wife, maybe? Whatever.

My bet is that there are many right-wingers who would feel such was wrong- you don't reap from society w/o paying a share. At the same time others would say... hey, as long as he can do it, more power to him.

There's a big difference between what is technically legal (loopholes) and what is moral. I reckon there are also wealthy Dems & Indies who will jump through every loophole they can. Their moral compasses do not include proportional sharing of the cost of a democratic republic. In public they wear their flag pens, talk the talk of anti-socialism, but then are quick to parasitize the masses while accumulating & hiding their private wealth. But I bet there are less of them then in the right wing area's.

I'm an "Obama Guy" myself, his plans sound good.
Watch it, don't criticize our presidential nominees when you don't even live here and have a fucking queen running things over there.

....
I do not like JDBen. In fact I rather dislike him. But I will say this at least so as you don't insult his country anymore Ian.

The Queen of England is a FIGUREHEAD. She has no power. England, granted while it is labeled as a Constitutional Monarchy, is run by Parliament and the Prime Minister. The Queen, is just kept around because it is English heritage and always will be.

What the hell do they teach you guys in Political Ideologies classes nowadays?

Danny, i think your really smart and respect you so much.
but heres what i have to say.

Both canidates i dont think have much to offer.

but Obama is a fake. He says how much faith in God he has and that hes a christian then reads the bible and misquotes it and says do we want out country ran from this book, it says to stone people and he completely contridicts(sp?) himself. Our fore fathers faught for our nation to be started and based on the bible and under God.
thats all i have to say. i know he will probally be a good president but thats just what ive seen.
im 14 so all this politic stuff is reallly dumb cause i cant vote anyway. but i dont want a Lier and a Fake to be president of our nation.

and honestly dude i dont think you could do any better than Mccain or Obama. so dont talk bad because im pretty sure you dont know all there is to know about politics. Im pretty sure its harder than you think running a nation, we dont need 14 year old kids babbling about how this is dumb or thats dumb. Id say we let people who are actually Old enough to vote and have a say decide.
that in no way was ment against you or anyone. Just my thoughts.
Umm. Sorry for the triple post everyone but I just have 5 words to say to this post.

Seperation Of Church And State.

Look it up dude.

Wow....

Matt, there is a reason (thankfully) that a majority of your peers disagree with you.

What does having a religious man in power have anything to do with presidency? And you're against Obama's Tax Policy? I will bet everything I own that you don't fall under the to-be-increased higher tax bracket.

Stop being a biggot. Face it, you don't like him because he's black. You have been subtly implying that for a while, I'm going to go right ahead and infer it.

If you disagree, show me some positive aspects of McCain's campaign in contrast with Obama's, and PROVE to me why McCain's plan is better.

Will he get assassinated? It really is possible, it's scary as well. But, at the same time you have John McCain who will be the oldest president ever in office. He demonstrates several warnings signs for alzheimers, and he could croak at any moment. Now, look at it this way, if Obama is assassinated, Joe Biden certainly will be able to lead and do a good job, Sarah Palin is in absolutely no way qualified to lead a country, or even a small town. Hell, she did a terrible job as mayor of Wasilla and an even worse job as governor.

Imagining Sarah Palin as the most powerful person in the world scares me.

Oh and I don't get why people don't like Obama's tax plan. I thought it was just take more money from people who have money? Makes sense to me, that's how it works in most places.

I brought in because no one else had the balls to say it and from what I have read from your posts that seems to matter to you.

Obama is helping out everyone in the world that doesn't make over 250,000 a year. You say work their asses off? You have no idea how corporations work. I fly with guys who have half the experience I have and you know what? I might have to start off on the bottom because some of these guys are so hooked up they will be making over 400k a year as soon as they graduate and will take these amazing jobs with UPS and FedEx from me for now. They didn't have to do shit but graduate and they will make close to half a mill like that. I will get there one day and I tell you this. I work with people at a GARAGE while I'm here in College that work their asses off. They work for 10 hours a day in a hope to make 30-40k a year while trying to support their families. They make shit pay, but dammit there work is harder to do then any of the shit I've seen. These people you say work hard to get so much money. It's called College. Most doctor's make a butt load of money. They went to school. That was their work to get there. Most of my friends can't afford to go to college so they have to work blue and white collar jobs hoping that it will pay off in the end. I tell you, when I get a high enough income to have that tax cut, I will happily give my money to the guys who gave blood sweat and tears to just live. I will gladly give that money because I don't need 400k to live a good life.

Why don't you actually go out and get some real world experience before you start talking shit about who works harder. I work with guys that will never make over 45k a year and they're working to live. And they have to live with that because they can't afford school. Don't give me that shit either about college loans. These guys have families. Yeah, most of them did something stupid in life. But dammit, they've all tried to make life better for themselves and are working harder then I ever will to make what I will in the end.
