^ I'm not sure but I think the spacing is different.

The new headtubes are stronger, but the only one that broke was a very limited run of the old headtube that was cut slightly different so there was less material in one spot, creating a weak point. All the old 81.5 headtubes are good and many of the old 83 headtubes are fine as well.

i think you guys should make room for a rubber pad to put between the bottom of the headtube and bottom of deck that way it would work as a shock absorber kinda

Having a shock absorption system between the headtube and deck is a horrid idea. If you want the headtube to flex back and forth, go buy a pro model and ride it unbolted. That's essentially what would happen. It wouldn't even "absorb landings", the deck would just feel like a weak piece of shit and then break.

I rode one of these decks... my hopes weren't high but i really liked it.

It's hard to tell how well you would like a deck when the bar size, wheels, ect are all different... there are a lot of variables. I will tell you the 81.5 whipped really well and was wayy lighter than i thought it'd be. It fingerwhipped well too. The concave is the perfect amount. I liked it.

edit: except the look, not a big fan. but idc about look or dialedness or anything like that so not a big deal for me.

Sorry Riley, but just out of curiosity, what size did you ride?
