I go with scooterist, but I avoid the term if I have to. I generally go with "I ride scooters" rather than "I am a scooterist".

I think the annoying thing is that scooter itself is a dumb name to begin with.

people always call scooters "scoots" and that sounds gay, as does scooting.

I am a scooter rider, i ride scooters, tomorrow im going to go scooter riding or riding.
i dont drag my ass across the floor, therefore i dont scoot, and dont enjoy scooting.
