really sorry if this thread has come up b4, tryd to search buy its kinda hard cause 325345million pages come up...
...anywho, i not really sure what ppl are on about when they dont like the weight of their scoot

i find that a heavier scoot allows you to get heaps more air out of ramps and stuff - and therefore gives you more speed (like more potential energy)

y do some ppl not like heavy scooters? i spose it would be harder to jump over things but that doesnt matter unless your a street freak!

please help - im so confused :p :p :p

im not going to lie, i like a light scooter, however i still reinforce my forks and hot glue my wheels and ride 110s. they are all heavier than stock, but they are stronger, or better (110s), pretty soon im going to be riding seat post bars too. and if i had the chance id ride rad bars, i wouldnt really care about weight because of the strength gain. the main reason i like lighter scooters is because im pretty little. but i still dont care a wicked lot about weight.

People are scared to ride heavy scooters because they think they'll lose tricks. This is silly though, because I went from a stock old A deck to a reinforced old B and it took me maybe 20 tries to get flat doubles back. I think it's worth the extra weight to have a solid, strong scooter and it's not really that hard to get tricks back.

I got myself banned.
If your more of a go big rider it might not really effect you. Im pretty much tech, i lost a handful of combos when i got my rads and sr fork, im not that worried about it though.

I ride light scooters, for a number of reasons. A big one is because I'm soooo tiny. On pro decks, theres still plenty of room on the deck with both my feet comfortably on. And I do lose tricks with the pro, i lost whip to bars and doubles of small stuff. Even putting odis on instead of foams made me lose bar to mannys, and other tech stuff. I don't want to lose those tech tricks because they're the only thing I'm good at. Not that heavier scooters don't have advantages, though, because they do make like nose mannys and some other stuff easier.

it seems like with all the stuff avalible i.e. ceramic headset balls, super reinforced forks, indestructable bars, and ceramic wheel bearings; wieght just shouldnt matter until you get into the goped grow/know-ped wieght class at like 25lbs even then its possible to double whip a grow ped flat

wow i havnt really had a problem relearning tricks as i switched set ups besides switching from stock bars to 16.5's but that just made my bars less good didnt eliminate em though

personally, i like light scooters. i ride a heavy one because the parts on it are a ton stronger than stock and im fine with that. but like if i were in brians shoes, id definitely try to keep my scooter light since tech doesnt beat on them as much so stronger parts arent a huge necessity.

ok thanks for clearing some of the stuff up...but i might not hav made this clear - does the weight of ur scootr determen how fast your going to go (like heavy scooters make u go faster) and stuff like acceleration

thanks :)

I think it just needs getting use to it. Heavy scooters usually are stronger because the reinforcement makes it heavy so I think its better because you can just get use to it and ride something strong but if it was heavy because you put concrete in the wheel , fork , deck and everything , I prefer a light scooter because the concrete does not reinforce anything.

you have to go a little faster, but its a scooter...
i guess you have to push a little harder, but the end results are amazing
