It was filmed in one of the most polluted cities in the world. I wouldn't expect blue skies and sunshine.

Color grading red footage you can make anything look like anything, if you haven't worked with raw video its hard to imagine. You can make things very different to what it looks like irl.
Example (not red footage but magic lantern raw)

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on samyang lenses? looking to invest into a fisheye and don't really wanna get a rokinon just because everyone has one and i want to know if theres anything better. I was looking at an 8mm samyang fisheye.

Took a chance a bought a RCA Pro 8 for 15$ today (early 90s cam) but part of it is broken so I have to return it. Would've been pretty fun to mess around with such an old cam though

I feel it man. I've worked with raw photo files for the last 7+ years.
Raw files are powerful, but it's mostly detail that you change with raw. (pulling detail from shadows / highlights, adjusting colour)
I've spent a pretty large amount of time shooting in smog filled cities, and nothing you can do in raw will change the conditions you were filming in.

Yeah raw is amazing af, the only thing that sucks is the enormous files sizes. But for exampel in the video the green trees and gray and just look very dull.

dawg please make a tutorial on this shit. i find it impossible
hmm i might, i grade in a program called da vinci resolve which acctuly is available for free on there site, theres tons of tutorials on youtube for it. But the main thing is to buy some nice LUT (look up tables). A lut is a packet you drag onto your clip and gives it a specific look which you can play around with later. It can be hard to grade from the beginning if you have no experience with colors.
these are my personal favorit http://deluts.businesscatalyst.com/deluts-set-1.html

(sorry for dub post)
