the inside part of that bottom clamp is shaped like a wedge so when it tightens it goes down the forktube and compresses the headset

The major issue I see is that it doesn't put even pressure around the headset cap. More pressure in the front, and less in the back

after the texas trip we were slammed at TGE so logan worked for us for a week
