how come like hardly any americans on this site seem to drink? i started drinking when i was like 13 but only every now and then tho. since like 16 ive gone out most weekends drinking. it seems its not as big a thing in usa?

One thing is that many kids on SR now are like 13 or younger, also alcohol is prohibited if you're under 21 which is crazy in my opinion, drinking age in Poland is 18 and Im really happy that since a year Im over that under 18 drinking drama. drinking is big here, except its like lets get trashed all the time drinking and not tell our parents cuz we'll get grounded even though they did that shit the same age as us.
in other countries drinking isnt like a big deal. in colombia the drinking age is 18 but if you go anywhere thats not like a hipster place or in small towns theyll sell you it at any age.
i dont know if they have parties or anything but over there you grow up fast and most kids act really adult by 15, and they get married younger so, i dunno, america has dependent stupid ass kids until 30.
most kids i know werent brought up with drinking being okay so as soon as they go to a party they think theyre cool as hell drinking and they like to talk about it and do it excessively and then they get hurt.
on the other hand people i know whos families were totally okay with them drinking casually, arnt psycho fiends that get killed.

i was until like my sophomore year but then i found out how much more fun it is to not be straight edge.
this is the way i see it:
there is a very short time span where it's socially acceptable to get drunk as hell and make a complete ass out of yourself.
that's right now, and i've got a great life. i'm not some frat kid that goes around all week bragging about his 40 second kegstand, but i like making dumb decisions, having no inhibitions, and just completely letting go of all premonitions for awhile.
not everyones like that, which is why i've got nothing against kids that dont drink and i'll never encourage someone that doesnt drink to start, but personally its not for me.

my opinion- im already loving my life and i have an adequate amount of friends and relationships. I see no need for drinking or smoking. Assuming the only reason you guys drink or smoke is to gain something, whether that be courage, fun times, because your curious, etcetc.. i am already satisfied with all of that. So i guess there is no purpose for that in my life. Thats my reasoning on why i dont do it.
