Good choice on getting a helmet, I've been hit by cars a few times and god real hurt a friend of mine lost his uncle on a lame bike crash... he lost balance and hit his head on the curb, he wasnt even going fast or anything. I wouldnt dare to ride on traffic without a helmet anymore.
And I put my road bike up for sale at bike shop here, I really dont ride it anymore i'm thinking of getting a Mountain bike to ride XC with the guys from the shop. Or biulding another fixed to have as backup and making it look as oldschool as possible, I love the old track bikes they are so classy.

Just so everyone knows, this summer im traveling to Italy and I'm gonna buy a legit track frame there, zomg.
My friend's old colnago is at the Bike shop atm, beeing converted since we no know nothing about mechanics and own no tools.
It should look pretty cool once its done, saving as many parts as possible the whole thing will cost 50-60 USD, we're using a suicide hub and my old cranks and chain ring.
He's not old enough to have a Job and comes from poor background so i'm helping as much as I can.

Traffic around here sucks and drivers are real calreless... to make it short, I rolled right my ankle and got some road rash on the left shoulder. Thankfully I didnt do anything to my right knee.
The bike's fine tough dont worry, front wheel's a little untrue but it doesnt even come close to touching the brake.

Wait, youre converting a colnago?
The Colnago's almost done. The seatpost's stuck there we need get it out,a nd he needs pedals with clips.
But the bike's rideable already. His frame had a crack on steering tube (i think thats the name) wich was poorly welded so we wont bother paint it, he'll get a new frame whenever he can. Rode if for a little bit and even tough the seats way too low that bike is very smooth and confortable.
Got the seatpost unstuck and some pedals with clips and straps.
The suicide hub.
We used a coaster brake hub, removed all its coaster braking features and welded the cog.
Gear ratio's 20-52
All the bikes.

^They kill people for converting stuff like that, put gears on that thing, fast!
Nah, I wont gears are lame hahaha and besides that frame's cracked its doomed to die, actually some guy contacted me saying he wants that frame and that he has some frames for sale.
He said he has an old pinarello in great shape, and i'd kill for a pinarello so I might get it as long as its really in good shape and the right size for me.
If I get me a new frame ad fork I'll give mine to my friend and see what I can do to that Colnago. But right its better off like that at least its rideable. As for his old shifters and everything we'll clean them and auction maybe someone who restores bike can put it to good use.
Taylor i'll trade you that Colnago frame for your bianchi pista so you can put the gears back and live happy ever after with it
If someone should get killed for ruining a bike it'd be the owner of this bike.

Pinarello pursuit bike with a coaster brake, now my friends colnago conversion might not seem as bad aeueeua.

Yeah I've seen that pursuit bike with the coaster brake, that's terrible. If you're actually gonna buy a frameset, why not just get a track one?

Because there are no track framesets around here, the few people that have them wont trade them for nothing. Track cycling wasnt all that popular here and street fixed gear bike are just starting appear. So ill just butcher a nice road frame, make it a track bike, get everyone mad and live happily ever after.
Pretty much all the fixed gears you'll see around here are, old Caloi, Monark and Peugeot conversions.
In other news the guy also has a Dura Ace stem with internal bolts that thing's gorgeous and I might get it.
