Just a design of a long scooter deck I'm designing. The orange bits are going to be open ended and will work a little like a jet - it'll take the air in and force it out the back through a smaller hole even faster. D'you reckon it'd work? 6" by 27". :p

I think there could be a bit of work done around the back where the neck tunnel joins on to the others.

Honestly, I'm not sure it would make a difference but what are your opinions?

it wont work how your thinking. its not going to force air through a smaller opening and make you go mach speed. It will actually slow you down by causing more resistance. The best think to do it to cut it out and direct the air to give you more downforce.

I had a feeling. Decks work fine as they are, stupid idea.

In other news, I bombed my first HUGE hill. It was about a kilometer and took about 20-40 seconds. Felt amazing but was terrifying!

WOW. The thing is, there are two or three huge hills but half way down all of them there is a really busy road so you have to time everything just right.

What did you measure the speed with?

a car following me, haha. i want to try to find some type of speedometer tho, i need that for hill bombs. its so hard to judge turns sometimes

We dont have good hills here, but when i was at Helsinki (capital city) we bombed awesome underground hills... Those were like 2km long :) It felt awesome.

get a gps clamped onto your bars that measures the speeds and stuff. Might be useful for blind turns as well.

I just threw on my anarchy gloves with the plastic guards and realized that sliding like in longboarding is a possibility but it is much, much harder than on a longboard.

Do you reckon a mountain bike speedometer would work with scooter wheels? I don't think it will but if anybody could try it out.

mountain bike speedometers (or at least the one i used when i was little) usually work with magnetic sensors and they are placed on the spokes of the wheels. You need to determine the size of the wheel so that the computer could calculate how many rounds per minute equals what speed. Usually with the computers you have on mountain bikes you don't get to choose a wheel size that small as you have on scooters. Perhaps longboard riders have some alternatives in their scene?

I just ride my regular scooter when I bomb hills, it's stable most of the time but sometimes I feel like I need a bigger ride for more stability.
