It's airborne. When someone dies they turn into zombies. So the question is.. can you survive from a zombie bite if it's minor? Do people turn into walkers because they die of bloodloss from the bite?

The comics are completely different from the show by this point. They keep certain things, but the whole story line isnt the same at all.
