What reason do they give you for not allowing scooters?

I was just wondering, what do the skate parks that don't allow you to scooter say to you when you try? I am just curious because I think it is really messed up. It would be like saying you can't snowboard down a mountain because people are skiing.

So yea, just curious...what excuse do they give you?

ive been told that my scooter will get "hung up" on ramps. and with bikers and skaters riding around, its just too dangerous. its BS, but what can you do?

It all sounds like a bunch of BS. Insurance reasons? I am sure they can file some paperwork that would include scooters, they are just lazy or w.e.

I just keep thinking back to the ski/snowboard thing I said before and just how much this is bs..I would like to see them tell the snowboarders that the snow was meant for skiing, see how well that goes over.lol

it is mostly the fact fact that there insurance wont cover it. because if a kid on a scooter falls, then the parents will sue the state for all it has. one other reason is the little kids that give us a bad name and get in the way of everyone

1. Insurance issues, which basically means their insurance doesn't cover scooters, so technically they can't allow us in the park unless they get a new insurance.

2. Scooter decks can scrape the edges of flatbanks etc and chip/damage the top of them a tiny bit.

that is a bunch of BS. luckily my local park is mostly scooters. so if they ban scooters they are gonna be out of business within the first week :p

Luckily at my local park (Arizona, Pecos Park) all the skaters are chill with scooter riders, but Snedigar Skatepark, Arizona, the people there give me all this BS about how Skateparks are meant for skate boarders, according to them "that's why it's called a 'skate'park", and "there's a lot of skateboarders and scooter riders might interfere or crash with them" while half of the skaters are sitting on the side getting high.

I thin that alot more outdoor parks let scooters than indoor. and of course the stupid little kids that people with no frickin idea think about when people scooter or razor. they have no idea how awesome the sport is they think all you can do is ride a scooter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have read alot of signs near skateparks that say no scooters. i go in anyway and all the cops care about is wearing a helmet.

It is not enforced.

word to who realizes it, its 100% because of the little kids that get in the way. because scootering became such a fad, many of who rode were little kids, we get BS for being stupid and riding scooters. my friend and i, who both scooter, always get bull from everyone about riding. why can;t people just quit hating and focus on whatever THEY'RE riding

Our signs at our Park say no scooters, But the community workers, council and police couldn't care less really. Although when we talk about it as general talk, It because of:

1) Insurance reasons. It does make sense.
2) Wrecking the coping. Which is Bs.

But the cops don't even care about us wearing helmets or anything on the Park itself, The second we leave that cement and ride somewhere else, They'll pull us up on it. So that's basically why we get away with it. Cause no one gives half a shit :)

i think it's because scooters are sorta new because most of the skate parks were built before the sport started or even if it was known. So when they made the rules they probably didn't think of scooters because not many people rode them, and same with BMX they thought not as many people rode them. So they only allowed skateboards

Also because skaters are the ones who ruin the streets by grinding and waxing places. Which damages the property. So they designed the skate park ONLY for skaters. so that they can stay out of the streets and stop damaging property

and bikes dont mess up the ramps its cool there pegs can put holes in the ramps and they can just demolish people that arnt on bikes cause they on bikes and do what they want
