I'm not sure what to do yet because my grandad might die and I will inherit half a million dollars to start my scooting compamy

Your parents will probably get the land (and therefore the money), then pay off all their loans, then with the few thousand left start a college fund or something. Or that's what my parents would do.

For you youngins I would suggest not going to school until you really know what you want to do. Or at very least take random classes that you think would be fun for a semester or two to see what you're actually interested in. My first year of college was kind of wasted because I didn't know what I wanted, and I feel like I'd rather have majored in something other than what I did.

^^^Words of wisdom right here^^^

Im in school for engineering and its hard as fuck. I wish i took more time looking into other majors before leaping into something as demanding as engineering science. But its too late to change majors and im fucked :)

So yeah, really make sure your a good fit in the major before you apply

That being said, nothing is wrong with taking some bullshit classes just to get a feel for college first

I went into my first semester gung-ho. I've been hit by 5 seizures and spent 7 days in the hospital. My gpa is around a 1.7. Keep it real, keep it easy until you have your footing.

More helpful advice/elaborating on steezemeisters post (He deserves to be a german mayor).

Any tips for college apps and visits? I'm about to enter that world soon and some wisdom from experience would be appreciated.

while writing college supplements try and be creative. don't write about how your grandma died when you were 10 and you felt sad and had nostalgic memories and flashbacks. they see that shit a hundred times a day and hate it. make a lasting impression on the admissions people so they remember your essay.

If you're interested in a school, go visit the campus. Trust me. You can't get a proper feel for the school without seeing the facilities in person, the student body in action, and all of the things the school has to offer. I've gone as far as Virginia (driving from MA) to see schools and Im going back down there soon to see more. There's no better feeling than discovering schools you didnt know a lot about and getting really excited for them.

VISIT VISIT VISIT.
