ok i am a student in metal working and i know how much this stuff costs to make

proto scs for the chunk of aluminum 2 bucks anodizing about 5 bucks but they sell for 80 bucks

wheels any wheel metal about a doller and urathane like two but sell for 50

phoenix decks the only only diffrence in the decks is the head tube one is 160 for standered but 220 for intagrated look at the diffrence

dont get me wrong phoenix, and proto and lucky and madd are great companies but we're buying scooters not bikes i dont think this should be so expensive

my last point unessasery work for looks because products look good at first but after a month of riding it looks like crap like everything dose like lazer etching or cutting out symbolls of the companies, painting or a sticker will work just fine

if we cut back these stupid unecessery aditions we wouldnt have to spend so much

thoughts?

Dont forget they're is a bit more to an scs than a chunk of aluminium, bolts, starnut stuff like that. But yeh you have a good point there.

Making A SCS is as much work as doing a BMX/MTB stem and it FOR SURE cost more then 2$ to buy a big block of ALU

Same with wheels CNC takes time and money and I guess most companies have others do the urethane pouring for them.

Also companies want to show that products are made by them and putting sticks on forks and wheels won't last very long and if you are getting parts lasercut etc why not take abit of extra time to cut out your logo onto the parts?

Also the Phoenix integrated comes with headset and brake for 220$.

Also take into consideration that CNC and welding uses machines which cost thousands of USD to buy/use.

aluminum chunk = a lot more than 2 bucks. to get that much aluminum, they have to mine it, purify it, process it, and distribute it. All of which costs a hell of a lot.

I stopped at the word "Mine" as I went into dreams about playing Minecraft. Time for a sesh.

things are soo expensive cuz the are not pass produced, they still have to pay workers, aand make a living, machining is super expensive unless u own ur own cnc, but those are a buttload.

Most scooter parts are not overpriced, although Phoenix decks are. They only cost about 50 dollars to produce. The integrated version costs 50 dollars more, and you subtract 25 dollars for the brake and 20 dollars for the headset, that's only 5 dollars more.

Hahaha. Yeah. I made a thread like this a while back as well. Pro models are basically extruded decks as well with a foldy welded on. There's no way a phoenix should cost 120 more than that.

Wheel/urethane compounds are expensive though.
