tried riding a fixed gear the other day and it was gnar until i realized that i needed to stop and my friends is brakeless and i didn't know what to do. But i think i'm gonna get a cheap road bike and convert it to a fixed for college

They don't free coast. If you petal back, the wheel goes back. Petal forward, it petals forward. You get the idea.

Well for a few reasons it's lighter, less complex so you need less parts, it's easier to work on, it's more quiet, and it's fun too. Cause if you ride no brakes you gotta be looking ahead at everything so you don't wreck.
