Alot of flashes already have that, but you need one on camera (or a transmitter to one) to set the other ones off.

i dont know about that. it could be true, but im pretty sure only the d70 only has the wireless built in, otherwise you need a transmitter.

d40x is really just more megapixels, and you won't need 10mp in most cases you won't need it.

i was talking to martin and he said for what im doing (like shooting bmx and stuff) its better getting the d40. and isnt the whole point of a slave is that one flash sets of the other, but if you dont use a flash to set off another its just called a wireless flash?? if you know what i meen

depends on what youre looking for. entry level, d40 is definitely better than a rebel, in my opinion. mid-level, probably better to go with 20d or 30d. high-end, noone here has to worry about.

got it today and my old flash works on it even though the guy at the shop said it wouldnt.

does anyone know whether the built in flash would trigger an optical slave flash?
