Get yourself a deburring tool- cheap and very useful for cleaning up the inside edge of the tubing.

Homemade star nut alternative.

M6 bolt welded on to piece of 5/8" threaded rod(this could also be a reinforcement).

Glued in with JB weld.

Works well so far, has anyone else done something like this?

Thats actually not too bad of an idea, but star nuts are only four dollars and fairly easy to install.

The reinforcement thing is a good idea but idk the weld looks sketch. And yeah you just have to go to your local bike shop to install a starnut

The welds are not sketch, the head of the bolt is underneath them. I made this because I just got sick of star nuts.
