Edit: guys, im in antique heaven, look what my dad just busted out.

but i mean my 1d was only 525$ you could easily sell your camera and a bit more stuff and get one just like it on ebay
my film camera and sunpak flash i spotted at a garage sale, but i had no money so they gave it to me for free haha along with 2 lenses for the film camera
i guess im just lucky

Well, if i were to get a 1D i want the Mark III. High FPS is really calling to me haha, plus there just amazing camera's all around. Who knows I might just check ebay out.

youd want the mark III? my 1d gets 8fps and the III gets 10fps its not that much more...

i'm guessing 1 chips are like handy cams like gs80s and stuff

1 chips process colors through 1 chip 3 chip divide them up so each chip is dedicated to red,green,blue

3 chip=3 ccd, you have 3 chips, RGB like John said, each doing their own color, so colors are alot better. High end 3ccd cameras usually have large chips, so better you get better quality.

Yeah, the lux rating of your camera has more to do with that though. My old JVC got better low light than my DVX does.
