Honestly though, as faulty and fragile as the vx1000 is, I still like the authentic "raw" look.

Yeah thats true but if your not like extremly serious about filming, or if someone is using your camera to film you (which i think is Dylan's case for Proto) i wouldn't want to drop $800 on a piece of glass. Im a serious filmer and i won't even drop that much money on it. If your on a tight budget i think the Opteka is worth it.andrew_ said:

its a home made screen. i also have a bayonet ring for a raynox to fit perfectly on a vx. ill trade both of those for scs if you have your old one
