Nothing to prove theres a god so why believe in one when i might be belieiving in something thats not even real. Hasnt science already proved that the universe started by a big bang?

The big band is just a theory.

I'm big on science, so i'm agnostic.
I won't believe until i have evidence.
But i'll keep my mind open as to a higher being existing.

I own SR.
The only person I have seen in this thread and all the others on this topic with any sense is Sean. Anyone who doubts the existence of a higher power and thinks this world and this universe just "happened" is an idiot.

Just because science can't prove the existence of God does not mean it can disprove it either. Yea, evolution is probably real. Yea, the big bang THEORY is probably real. Yea, most things that science discovers are probably real but if anyone can explain to me how science proving something in turn disproves the existence of a god I would love to hear it. The only thing I think when I hear of all these amazing scientific discoveries is that God really is amazing if he brought all this into existence with all its complexities.

in my opinion, there COULD be a god because.. i mean really.. what made us
but then, how was god made???
its all dumb shit

in my opinon, there is a god
or at least was a god

Makes no sense.
this proves there is such thing as GOD..

what do people think?

Dammit, you've got me there. Some all powerful, all good, all knowing higher power makes perfect sense though.

Some scientific theories like the "Big Bang" directly contradict God and how he created everything.

I personally believe that neither side knows enough for either one to be absolutely correct. Science cannot directly prove how the universe started, its all just an educated guess. God cannot be directly proven either as it is all faith based. No one has actually seen God and been able to prove by other than just word of mouth, making their evidence invalid by any sort of scientific method.

So when it comes down to it, I believe just follow whatever "floats your boat". I don't think either side has enough room to say who is absolutely correct. If believing in a higher power gets you through the day and makes sense of the world for you, then so be it. However, having an argument over it where either side is just as ignorant as the other will NEVER go anywhere, and this is why religious debates still exist today. That is why I say believe what you want to believe in, and let others do so as well, and live in peace with each other.

no they don't. not at all. they directly contradict christian fundamentalists, the same dumbasses that are trying to get the creation theory taught in schools.

who say's god couldn't have initiated the big bang? who say's god didn't have some part in in evolution? i'm not saying that's what i necessarily believe, but i don't see why everyone believes god and science have to be so opposed to each other. it's totally irrational.

In simpler terms of what Sean said, you can believe in god without following in a religion. you probably heard of how god created everything in the bible. that is a christian interpretation of god.

There has to be a higher power.
Whether its god or not we dont know for sure, I believe its god.

Like its been stated :
scientists say that the probability of random chance of life surviving without a designer is so ridiculous (like 1/10^25)

Micro evolution is possible-it makes perfect sense. But Macro evolution has been disproven and is ridiculous imho.

Christianity has not been disproven. In fact, it has been proven to a significant extent. Enough to even change many skepticals.

Atheism is ridiculous in general. I dont know if christianity is the right way, but SOME higher power created all of this. We just dont know.

i don't really care what people think of it. I believe in God, and I go to church, but like what Dre said.. I don't go around forcing my "religion" onto other people. Believe what you want to believe...

Ok for the people who keep saying "Well if we came from microorganisms where did they come from?"

I forget the name of the guy but be tested a hypothesis that microorganisms came from chemical reactions in Earths early stages which formed theses microorganisms which later evolved into complex organisms later when Earth became habitable.

My opinion on this is as followed. I believe Jesus was a real person but NOT the son of god. I do not believe in the religious god that is talked about so much. I DO believe in a superior being to everything we know/will ever know about it.

exactly wat i think

You guys are arguing (using that term very loosely) over if there is a god or not. But honestly, can you define God for me? Everybody is always talking about God and all that, but can anybody actually define what this "God" is? This is just something I'd like to hear, because I never have heard what God actually is. Like is he an actual person to you, like living in "heaven" and controlling your moves? Or is he just what creates life and things.

I believe there is a power higher than us, it somehow made this world and life as we know it, but this power does not directly interact with us. I believe that the only time this power interacts with us is in the creation of our "fate". I believe the power gives us the skills that lend themselves to whatever our "destiny" may be, but it is our choice to use them how we want. This, I feel, backs up my opinion that we aren't directly interacted with by a higher power regularly. As for how the world and universe were created, I have no clue. I think the big-bang theory makes sense, but it isn't something that wouldn't happen on its own. Thats just my opinion, I have never heard anything like it so it's all based of what i know and believe. As long as it's peaceful I have no problem defending my point.
