Razor dropping X Games hints?!

Skating is the model of a successful extreme sport. Acting like them is in the best interest for the community and the sport in general.

If you want to act like them, go buy a plank of wood and be like them. This is a different sport, no need to copy others. Take cues and ideas? Sure. But so many scooter kids are just dying to be accepted as much as skateboarders. Since when did this sport become the bastard red headed stepchild of skaters?

As far as X games, going to see this tough to happen right now. We don't have the $$ to support enough legit pros. To compete at that level, you have be able to make a LIVING at this, and to spend all your time training and practicing to stay at that top level. Not to mention scooters would look ridiculous hitting mega ramps and the big park. There is a small handful of guys in the world that would even GET that much air, much less look cool hucking tricks. Street... now that could showcase some skill but unfortunately it's the least watched part of X Games. So...I'd love to see the sport get noticed at the X Games...but a little afraid it wouldn't have a good enough showing right now.

From what I gathered Razor spent a lot of money on the ramps and shit like that, but it's going to be a trial sort of thing on the side. If it gets enough of a turn out it may be included soon.

I agree but, I cant belive street is really the least watched part of the x games. Sooters on mega ramps would be ridiculous. However I could see scooters in street and park events. There is enough pros for it. Your right though we dont have money. I think it would be huge because, When little kids show up on a board often times they watch the scooters and are blown away. Thats how I was. It would make the sport grow a ton. Its just cant happen right now though. they'll just do one of those little events that are not ion tv like in the past. In the future it will defenitly happen.

street is the least watched event because it's boring to normal people that know nothing about action sports. Theyd rather see people go big on the mega ramp or the half pipe

not much but you guys need to realize that Shaun White started a scooter line and here in the guest info about people attending and watching the xgames it considers scooters as a sport, I didn't notice it at first but it includes it in sports equipment.
"Skateboards and in-line skates are not allowed on the venue. Please use the skate check service near the X Fest entrance located at the North West Corner of Nokia Plaza. No skateboards, in-line skates, bikes, scooters or other sports equipment will be allowed inside any of the X Games venues."
ALSO Razor posted on facebook something about June28th and that's when xgames starts.

exactly. People who ride a lot will appreciate the tech aspect of the street course and will thoroughly enjoy watching it. The MASSES though, who are simply spectators, are going to be more impressed with big tricks and big nut-it-up gaps.

yo when i started riding there was razor and only razor with no pro model decks. just old a's. If you dont think that scooterers wont be able to smash the street courses in the x-games your wrong. Just watch some recaps of the skaters in years past. its not any more entertaing then scootering. I know there are plenty of riders to put on a good show. thats all that matters. It doesnt have to be the most insane shit youve ever seen. Ive been to the xgames. really what you see on tv is different then in real life. usually they only show the biggest names in the sport. some people arent that good and some fall. its just life. this can only be good for our sport. it gives freestyle scootering recognition. people will watch. some might not like it, but who cares about those squres anyway. smash there teeth out.

If we still want to have a serious industry left, it has to wait.

this. its not dead set that if scooters get in the industry is screwed, but it's a possibility depending on how the public reacts to it. lets not risk repeating history and make the same mistake as rollerblading.

Ehh, maybe it's a good thing that xgames will happen. The sport will die a quick death after massive exposure like blading did, and then only the serious riders and a few diehard companies will be left. That might be beneficial in the long run.

I somewhat agree to this, but, with the level we are at now, I only see a handful of companies still in this(ones not backed financially), the rider owned companies. The companies that still care about the sport. It might be a lot tougher since cashpools and sponsors at comps will go down drastically, and pros will still have to work at walmart just to be able to afford living and riding, but I think it would be worth it. We would be able to build ourselves back up, recreate the path to the x-games where we will be on that level of riding.

Yeah it would. Even more little kids would come, buy crappy parts, companies become too commercialised and the quality of products will go down, more og riders will quit, little kids have no one in the x games to watch, get bored, quit, we are left with only a few hardcore riders and very few decent products.
