What the fuck's up with all this Chik-Fil-A Bullshit?

Chick-Fil-A stopped funding these groups, prior to when all the boycotts began. While the actions are not very humane, or correct in my opinion; the funding is over. More so, the man who made the statement which has put everyones panties in a very thick knot is 91 and barely (if you even want to call it that) runs the company anymore.

The public statements are just the CEO's view points being repeated blindly by his sons (the CEO is the 91 year old). While the actions are despicable in their nature, their donations are not the only source of funding that the "FRC" has, and are donations, in the aspect that it is money given to an organization to do as they please. FRC is a horrible interest group, based on both moral and scientific standards, but blaming a company that gave 2.xx million to the group blindly is not the way to approach the issue. Logically one would go out and criticize FRC, openly protest the "Traditional Marriage" interest groups with whatever power they could, which is plenty considering companies like Oreo (owned by Kraft Foods, which makes more than Chick-Fil-A annually) are at the back of equal rights for all. Honestly, people should try and get them into the political debate scene as they have the financials to do some very good work regarding reform.

Also, their current public actions are really not very different than they used to be other than the funding has stopped, and the hatemongering board of directors is slowly dying out (VP died less than a week ago), the CEO is 91 and grew up eating fried foods, and his two sons are over 50 and while rich, ate their fair share of processed food. The leadership that is accountable for these actions won't be promoting whatever they want for too much longer. But for the time being, as the Cathy family is worth just over 1.5 Billion each, they will continue to fund whatever they please, despite the protests and activism, they grew up Baptist and probably won't be seeing the light of logic and humanity anytime soon (not a baptist thing, but southern baptists are notoriously devout to their religion).

The actions are undoubtedly absurd and should be classified as a human rights violation, but with their current fiscal abilities and political support from southern leaders, nothing will be changing anytime soon without political intervention.

Its fucking stupid, the people don't realize how outdated their goddam protests are and the lack of anything that they are doing to the company. Eat your fucking chicken and get over it.

^They aren't funding anti-gay organizations, or anything like that at all. All they did was announce that they are going to stand firm on their beliefs, and not hire gays, and not support gay marriage. They aren't saying gay people can't eat there, all they are doing is saying they are going to stay privately owned so they can stick by their moral beliefs. It's not even just the gay stuff, like the way they are closed on Sunday to to it being the day of the lord. People are making way to big of a deal out of it.

Just read that, you are too ignorant to be even regarded. They did, up until 2 weeks ago fund a few antigay lobbying groups with amounts from their corporate expenditures of about 2.8 million dollars annually.

I can't check facebook without some blind bigot ruining my news feed. The Southeast breeds arrogance and fucked up elitism based on religious beliefs only. I don't understand how kids follow the trends of their parents so easily.

I can't get on facebook without seeing blind hatred being spewed out against CFA. Both are embarrassing.

I find it repulsive how you're sugar coating bigotry. Not hiring someone due to sexual orientation is bigotry. Its not acceptable in a society where we have to co exist.

It's very very good.

The point is that it's dumb to try and tell a Christianity-based company (I'm trying to be politically correct since not every employee/person affiliated with Chik-Fil-A is necessarily Christian) that it's wrong for them to follow their religion by being against gay marriage when the company doesn't even propagate that in their restaurants. That's like trying to tell a rock to not be a rock. The rock can't hear you.

it is wrong for anybody to be against gay marriage for any reason and they do propagate it in their restaurants. when chick fil a first came out i remember my dad was going to be one of the first to invest in a few stores to start a franchise branch in the north east, which has yet to be done. i did some research on the company by my dads request and found all the bullshit the owner has been pulling and found a bunch of contracts to religious organizations like the afa and a bunch of random church affiliations.the owner is a full on rick santorum type anti gay conservative. supporting that and saying its ok to be against a group of people over genetic traits is full on bigotry and my dad turned it down because of this. i knew this would happen for years with chick fil a. as for people saying its ok and they'll still shop there, congratulations you're adding to the money he's going to donate to anti gay organizations, which he still does by the way je just keeps the income he would have used and instead of filing it as a company donation it would be his own, meaning he can remain anonymous when he does so. he's still doing it, why anyone would believe them is beyond me.

Ok sure you can tell them it's wrong but let me reword my point: it's dumb to try and convince them that it's wrong, even when it obviously is.

Honestly Chick-Fil-A isn't very good to begin with, I think the chicken is greasy and not all that great. Bojangles is much better, IMO.

Moving onto the controversy: While it is the CEO and company's stance to be anti-gay as a whole, this opinion does not ring true for all employees. However, Chick-Fil-A has funded multiple anti-gay and "pray the gay away" groups, as well as lobbying for the passage of anti-gay marriage legislation in multiple states. While I support their right to say and believe what they do, I will not willingly fund any company who would use my money to financially or morally support anything of the sort.

Here's one article that shows exactly what I'm talking about, if you google it you can find many more: http://equalitymatters.org/factcheck/201207020001

/thread

this dude right here if correct in saying "/thread"

it seems silly at first because people who own companies like all normal people are still allowed to own an opinion, but when that opinion protrudes on others, it's a different story, which it does. The ignorance stated by their ceo is hilarious, I like that Jon Stewart points out that we genetically mutated God's chickens and put bacon on the sandwiches, not in his image or following the rest of Leviticus. Christianity is usually hilarious itself because a lot (but not nearly all) of its followers are so stupid and lacking in rationality.

Chic fil a has some good ass chicken, not too crunchy, and not soggy with grease.
that being said i agree with bennett in this case and will say that even if they were still doing this they are a privately owned company and can do whatever the hell they want with the profits they make, and like it or not thats how capitalism works. We as U.S. citizens have the freedom to believe whatever we damn well please and if that happens to be a 2000 year old magical book then so be it we have the freedom to do so whether you like or agree with it.

“we’re inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. And I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about.”

IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT THE BIGOTRY IS BASED OFF OF, IT'S STILL BIGOTRY. WHETHER ITS BASED OFF A 2000 YEAR OLD BOOK OR A MANS OWN STUPIDITY, IT'S BIGORTY AND IN A SOCIETY WHERE WE HAVE TO COEXIST, ITS NOT ACCEPTABLE.. yes they are free to be bigots, but its still wrong to do so and shopping there still shows you in support of a bigoted cause.

if you support their company, your money is going to a hateful cause. the point isnt that they cant believe what they want, the point is they're wrong for trying to implement their pathetic religious beliefs on American politics. you have the freedom to believe whatever you want, not to try to control the way others act based on those beliefs.
